Located in Huizhou, Guangdong, Huizhou West Lake is one of the most famous local attractions. The landscape of the West Lake is composed of "five lakes, six bridges, and eight scenes." "Five lakes" refers to the five lakes that form the West Lake area: Ling Lake, E Lake, Ping Lake, Feng Lake, and South Lake. There is a mountain on the west side of Ping Lake, and the Memorial Hall of Su Dongpo is built on the mountain. When Su Dongpo was living in Huizhou, he wrote poetry about West Lake.

Show More ReviewsI'm planning a two-day trip to West Lake over Saturday and Sunday. I'll stay at a hotel near the lake. Restaurants around the hotel are expensive, but it's much cheaper to eat near Xiajiao Road. Just remember to avoid the restaurants right by the lake; walk a bit further to the streets frequented by locals. West Lake has beautiful scenery. If you want to take a boat trip for bird watching, rent one near Bird Island to save time. Pedal boats are slow and tiring. A pedal boat costs 180 yuan per hour, while an electric boat costs 140 yuan for half an hour. Both types of boats travel the same distance, one is slower and the other faster, so choose according to your needs.
