The Hill Club

This time capsule is definitely for Brit History lovers, tea lovers, who appreciate perfect gardens and pix of the Queen's visit 50 years ago.  Not for foodies -- had to order Brit food 4 - 24 hours in advance of meal time.  Not for folks who are active.  Nothing to do but hire a driver to visit tea plantations.  I might have explored golf option in the rain, but chose instead to depart after one night.

Loved this place , old word elegance in an incredible setting. Worth a visit . Rooms have been upgraded and the service is old world . Close to the golf course and another large hotel if you want a change .

We walked into the Hill Club and were met by Nassim who gave us a great tour of this historic club which was set up for the tea planters in the 1800s. We joined for the day and had high tea and beers in a very smart colonial atmosphere. We were served by Chataranga who was also extremely helpful. We toured the facility and learnt about the history of the club. The gardens are beautifully manicured also. It’s a must visit if you find yourself in Nurawa Eliya in the hill country!

We received a historical tour from Hassim and were enlightened by all of the incredible knowledge he had to offer. I definitely recommend taking this opportunity to learn about this incredible place! Mahalo nui from Hawai‘i!

Great atmosphere, love the eerily feel of this place!! One of my fave parts of the day was Hassim giving us a very interesting tour of the place, love the knowledge he has of the history of the club. Another fave is the hot water bag they put in our beds every night because it gets a little chilly. Gardens are BEAUTIFUL, the landscape is very very well maintained.

Our experience at the Hill Club was nothing short of incredible! Hassim gave us a very informational historical tour of the grounds and showed us around the hotel. Great staff, great food, great experience!

We went here for a two night stay and had a great time! It was a lovely breakfast and high tea! The gardens are gorgeous and the staff is so helpful! Hassin gave us a tour of the grounds and a history lesson as well. Great experience!

We did a tour of the grand building with Hassim who was very knowledgeable of the rich English history of the private club. Thank you Hassim for guiding us through the history, detailed paintings and photos of a time long gone. We then wandered the gardens which were absolutely stunning.
