Residence Inn Boston Downtown/South End

The room was spacious with a huge fridge and a kitchenette. The breakfast was quite varied for American standards. The windows couldn't be opened, but that's not uncommon in the USA. The front desk staff were friendly. Across the street, there's a large supermarket, and bus stops for the SL4 and SL5 are right outside, offering good and fast connections to downtown (19 min.). There were a few sketchy characters hanging around outside, but we didn't feel unsafe. Poverty is easily reached in the States, after all. All in all, we felt very comfortable there and would return. The 4 stars for location is because it's not directly in the city, and depending on your destination, it can take about 40 minutes with a transfer.

The hotel is located 3 km from the city center, with a large supermarket directly across the street. It's conveniently accessible via the Orange and Green metro lines.
