The Westin Sendai Hotel

About a ten-minute walk from Sendai Station, which is acceptable. The front desk is on the 26th floor, and the facilities are good. However, the staff's English isn't great; everyone from the front desk to the breakfast staff struggles with it. Plus, it gets crowded, and you have to queue for everything – checking in, breakfast even at 7:30 AM, and even checking out.

The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Sendai Asaichi Market, Tohoku University, and major department stores like Parco. There's also a Mont-bell store nearby with a wide selection of products.

This hotel is supposedly the best in Sendai, so when I visited, I booked two nights to experience it. It's a bit far from Sendai Station, which isn't ideal if you're lugging luggage. We ended up taking a taxi from the station. Since we arrived before check-in, we were able to store our bags on the first floor. Later, after we checked in, a staff member brought them directly to our room. My room type offered a nice view, with a distant glimpse of the Great Kannon statue. The room itself was spacious, but it definitely felt old; many facilities are in need of repair and updating.

Great location, good breakfast, and friendly service. It was quite busy since I booked for the weekend.

I heard this was the best hotel in Sendai when I booked it, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. The rooms are spacious, the views are great, the service is excellent, and the restaurant offers both delicious food and stunning scenery! The location is superb, just a ten-minute walk from Sendai Station. You can easily walk to places like Tohoku University (the former site of Sendai Medical College) and Zuihoden Temple.
