I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in years.
Quite frankly, I’m surprised this property is still listed on Trip.com.
The room had no usable Wi-Fi. The only reliable internet connection was in the lobby, making it nearly impossible to work or stay connected from the room. One evening there was no hot water at all, and the hotel provided no warning, explanation, or update on when the issue would be resolved.
The room itself felt extremely dated and poorly maintained. The air conditioner was stained yellow, appeared filthy, and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke residue. There was no bedside lamp, the bathroom fixtures looked worn out, and the toilet had a commercial-style flush handle more commonly found in public restrooms. The shower was also in poor condition and did not appear clean.
The property is under constant renovation, so expect drilling, hammering, grinding, and construction noise throughout the day. Any hope of a relaxing stay quickly disappears.
The pool area was equally disappointing and looked neglected rather than inviting.
Location is another major concern. The hotel sits directly across from a nightclub/gentlemen’s club, and noise from the area continued late into the night, making it difficult to sleep.
The final straw was discovering bugs in my food while dining at the hotel.
While the property may appear inexpensive, there are far better options available in Davao. Between the lack of basic amenities, poor maintenance, construction noise, questionable cleanliness, and disappointing service, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere.
