Hôtel de Bouilhac

Amidst the beautiful Dordogne right on the river lies Montignac-Lascaux and this wonderful hotel in the centre of the village. This very sensitively restored place gives you all the oldy wordly feeling with all the mod cons that the modern traveller wishes for. Apart from that, you get the most friendly welcome, help with restaurant reservations and a parking space right outside. Loved it.

Great hotel that still has all of the character of the building’s age and with the comforts of a modern hotel. We were made to feel a valued customer from arrival to departure.

When we arrived we were greeted warmly by Loic the front desk/concierge. The hotel is right out of history but has all the modern needs, even a pool. The breakfast was great every morning and the staff were truly helpful and cared that we had a good time in Montignac. They lost a star because of a few things with the room. The tub/shower was not really usable. It did not have an enclosure, the shower head was below my waist and kneeling for the shower was not right. The patio umbrella was broken, I found that out when it rained, there were broken windows in the bathroom and the clothing hutch didn't have shelves nor drawers. This made it difficult to store our clothes. I would go back again but I hope that management takes care of details before I do.

Lovely hotel in a 17 century castle jus a few steps from medieval center of town. Inviting building is carefully restored, with visa le stone walls and vaults in the ground floor where is a reception bar and one of the best restaurants in the region. The common room and guests rooms are spacious, with some rustic historical furniture and all moderen devices one could need. Including Tv, water heatet, fast wifi. The bef eas super comfortable, night was quiet. I had a big terrace with comfortable chairs and views to the park, river and old town. Breakfast was tastefull with plenty of choice, with the best from French vuisine. There is also inviting indoor pool and gym. The personnel were extremly atentive, talkable and thoughtfull. The hotel is a perfect starting point for exploring the region.

We stayed at this hotel in 2022 and it was excellent! the rooms are still fabulous but the service is now lacking. We arrived Saturday afternoon and the lovely lady said she was the only one on reception all weekend so told us that she would take a three hour break on Sunday. they had to change our bed sheet as there was a nasty stain. They said they are having some issues with the laundry service. in order to get a drink its a game of hide and seek! it is not value for money and we are unlikely to stay there again!

Wonderful welcome from reception, really friendly staff. Love the building, very quiet and to top it a great swimming pool. What not to like ….

What a great pleasure the hotel was. Came for the Caves but would return just for the hotel.

The hotel is amassing, down side the bar closed at 9:30pm and the pool at 8:30 The botells of water in the room should be offered for free on a daily base and not just on arrival. Rooms are large, big bathroom, very clean and air-conditioning... very important when its 39c outside.
