FAV LUX Sapporo Susukino – Twin Bed Room
We stayed at FAV LUX Sapporo Susukino for 4 days and 3 nights in a twin bed room. Overall, I would say the hotel is pretty standard, and considering the price we paid, it is reasonably okay and matches what we expected for the price.
The room size was just nice for 2 people, even with our 2 large pieces of luggage. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because the larger room types come with an in-room washer, which was very useful during our trip.
There is no free parking at the hotel. There is a parking lot just behind the hotel, but parking is chargeable.
Location-wise, this was probably the biggest downside for us. It is quite far from the main central area, so after a long day out, we often had to take a pretty long walk back to the hotel. Also, if you’re planning to take the airport limousine bus, the nearest bus stop is around a 10–15 minute walk away. With large luggage, dragging everything along the way to the bus stop was honestly quite torturing, especially when you’re already tired from travelling.
Another issue was the toilet. There was a noticeable sewage smell, which I also noticed had been mentioned in quite a few other reviews. The bathroom area was also quite humid, and the air circulation didn’t seem very good, making it feel a little uncomfortable and difficult to breathe, especially after taking a shower.
Housekeeping is done every 3 days, although staff do come by daily to clear the rubbish and provide fresh towels. Unfortunately, some of the towels we received still had a bad smell, which was quite disappointing.
Overall, I think the hotel is acceptable for the price we paid, especially if having an in-room washer is important to you. However, considering the location, distance from the central area, inconvenient walk to the airport limousine bus stop, bathroom ventilation, sewage smell and the issue with some of the towels, personally, I don’t think I would choose to stay here again.
