The Okura Tokyo

The hotel location is great, though it's a bit uphill. The service attitude is 100/100; communication was smooth with absolutely no issues. Housekeeping even came twice a day and proactively asked if there was anything that needed improvement or replenishment. The hotel breakfast is a full recommendation, a must-try!

The service and cleanliness were top-notch, and while the facilities were a bit old, they were well-maintained. The only issue was the air conditioning's indicator light, which blinked brightly all night. I had to dig out a band-aid from my luggage in the middle of the night to cover it up so I could finally get some sleep.

I brought my parents to Tokyo, and for the first two nights, we stayed at the Imperial Hotel, an older, well-established hotel. The location was excellent, but the rooms were a bit dated, with an old-school style. For the next two nights, we chose The Okura Tokyo and were very satisfied. It's located in Toranomon, and right outside the hotel, there's a small park. Next door is the US Embassy. The surrounding area is very new and quiet, perfect for a pleasant stroll in the morning and evening. Unlike Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ginza, which are always bustling, this location is ideal for older people. The breakfast was much better than at the Imperial Hotel. The subway station is a 10-minute walk, which is acceptable, and there are some small shops to browse on the way to the subway.

Facilities: Japanese style, very spacious room with a full-length window. The US Embassy is right next to the street, so security is excellent. The room is also quiet. Cleanliness: Every detail was well taken care of. Environment: Good. Service: The staff were all smiles and very friendly. The turndown service was also very professional. This will be my first choice if I come to Tokyo again.

An absolutely wonderful hotel! It made my Tokyo trip a warm and thoughtful experience! Facilities: The public areas are truly beautiful, showcasing the neat and understated elegance of Japanese aesthetics. The room facilities are spacious and new, and the amenities provided in the room are very thoughtful. Besides the basic toiletries, there are also THREE skincare products and mouthwash. (P.S. The tube toothpaste wasn't great, but the cushion brush was really good). Service: The service was exceptionally meticulous. If I left my cosmetics on the table, they would organize everything neatly. The matcha chocolate delivered every evening was from Pierre Hermé in France and tasted delicious. The minibar was replenished daily for free, and if I bought things and needed to leave quickly, I could hand them to the concierge to have them sent to my room – incredibly thoughtful. My only minor complaint is that the regular breakfast was quite bad... The variety was limited, and breakfast ended quite early. Although there were three restaurants for breakfast, none of them were particularly good. However, the French toast I pre-ordered was excellent (it was the only good thing). If you don't use all your spending credit, you can visit the shops nearby to buy some small pastries as souvenirs to take home. Cleanliness: The cleaning was extremely thorough and the room was spotless. Environment: It's a very beautiful location, very safe being next to the American Embassy. Taxis are also readily available. It's also very close to Tokyo Tower.

This hotel in the heart of Tokyo is super convenient for getting around. The room was really spacious and well-equipped, complete with a capsule coffee machine, complimentary snacks, and even Fujisan mineral water. The lobby is quite grand too!

Service: Impeccable attention to detail from check-in to check-out, truly high-quality service throughout my stay. Facilities: The room was spacious with an excellent view. The amenities were top-notch, and the common areas were also fantastic. Environment: Very safe location, right next to the U.S. Consulate. It offers a tranquil escape despite being in a bustling area.

The service here is exceptionally good. The rooms are spacious and clean, and even the bathroom area has heated floors. Personally, I prefer the large living room suite over the one with the scenic bathtub. This was my second stay. Because it was Japan's Golden Week holiday, the breakfast buffet had a queue in the morning, but the food was delicious. This time, I also tried the French breakfast, which was just okay and not as good as the buffet. I also experienced the pool, which was great. It's located on the 27th floor of another building and also has a spa. The lane is narrow, so only one person can swim at a time, and there's a 40-minute limit. However, there's a lane specifically for walking in the water, which seems popular with elderly Japanese people. I tried it too; it was difficult at first, but after learning the movements from the Japanese seniors, you need to coordinate your hands and feet to walk steadily and quickly. The changing rooms are very clean and have spin dryers (Japanese spin dryers are excellent; they remove most of the water in about 5 seconds, much better than those in high-end hotels back home, and they're spotless). It's quiet and conducive to sleep; I slept 10 hours every night. There's a layer of blackout curtains, so no issues with light. I love it and it's my top choice for hotels in Tokyo. I'll be checking in again at the end of the month. The only drawbacks are that it's a bit far from the subway and it's on a hill, so you have to walk up a slope. I'm not sure why the road near the US Consulate was closed on May 1st. Within a 10-minute walk, there are many restaurants, and it's very close to Suntory Hall (I went there for a concert). Guests can visit the Okura Museum for free, which houses exquisite Chinese artifacts. Japanese people enjoy visiting it; this time it was lacquerware, last time it was ceramics.

This area has a very Japanese vibe and is popular for business. Even during leisure periods, many locals come to check it out. There are also plenty of restaurants, which is very convenient.
