The Okura Tokyo

One of Japan's top three iconic hotels, and it truly lives up to the name. The hotel was very thoughtful in contacting us well in advance to check our preferences and room location. The lobby is exceptionally grand and cinematic, and the staff were extremely patient. A wonderful experience!

This veteran Japanese hotel truly excels in all aspects – location, service, design, and comfort are all outstanding. The service, in particular, stands out; almost every staff member you encounter will greet you with a smile, making you feel incredibly welcome. From the room window, you can see the Tokyo Tower, and it's a convenient 10-15 minute walk away. The hotel breakfast was also a highlight for me, especially their waffles, which were genuinely the best I've had at any hotel. Their French toast is a signature item, but it costs an additional 3500 JPY, which is a bit pricey. Overall, I was extremely satisfied.

This is a very traditional Japanese five-star hotel with excellent environment, service, and facilities. The location is also good, but it might be a bit inconvenient if you don't drive or take a taxi when going out. It takes more than 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the subway station, and because it's on a hillside, there's a bit of an uphill walk. The Western breakfast selection is generally limited, and the taste is a bit monotonous.

I was genuinely 'shocked' when I walked into the lobby – stunning Japanese design, spacious, and an elegant atmosphere that just washes over you. The hotel is located in Minato-ku, right next to the US Embassy, making it incredibly quiet and beautiful. Beyond the daily room cleaning, they also offer turndown service – they'll lay out a bath mat, leave chocolates, and even beautiful origami cranes and turtles. Each day, you get a set of THREE mini-samples (cleansing oil, face wash, toner, moisturizer, and cotton pads). They also provide a complimentary packet of rice crackers & peanut snacks daily. Soft drinks in the mini-bar are extra, but the prices are reasonable: 500 for a canned drink, 700 for a beer. You absolutely MUST experience the swimming pool and sauna/bath facilities; they completely blow away any high-end bathhouse in Beijing. The pool is unbelievably clear!

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent service. I actually found their breakfast buffet, which offers both Western and Japanese options, to be better than the Imperial Hotel's. It's not a set menu, which is great. The hotel's location is also fantastic and very quiet. On my way back one evening, I got caught in the rain and had to walk with an umbrella, and the next day there was an earthquake. It definitely made for some unique memories!

The hotel service is top-notch, and it's well-maintained and feels new. The room is very spacious, with a direct view of Tokyo Tower.

The hotel location is great, though it's a bit uphill. The service attitude is 100/100; communication was smooth with absolutely no issues. Housekeeping even came twice a day and proactively asked if there was anything that needed improvement or replenishment. The hotel breakfast is a full recommendation, a must-try!
