Jing'an Temple is the central attraction in Shanghai's trendy Jing'an district. The Buddhist temple complex traces its history as far back as 247 CE; however, the current structure follows a 1983 conversation back to a temple, which had ceased to exist during the Cultural Revolution. The current complex is sightly and presents a stark contrast with the forest of high-rise buildings surrounding it. Show More ReviewsJing'an Temple was one of the most impressive places I visited in Shanghai. I was amazed by how the beautiful traditional temple sits right in the middle of a modern city filled with high-rise buildings. The golden roofs and detailed architecture immediately caught my attention and made the temple a great place for photos. Inside, the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, offering a nice break from the busy streets outside. I enjoyed exploring the temple grounds, admiring the Buddhist statues, and learning more about its history. Overall, it was a memorable experience and a wonderful place to appreciate both culture and architecture in Shanghai.
