Hotel Monterey Edelhof Sapporo

The hotel exceeded my expectations! I definitely want to book it again. It's a shame I couldn't properly use the free spa since I was on a one-day tour. However, it was great that the airport bus stop (for both directions) wasn't across the street but rather about 150m straight ahead after turning left from the hotel's main entrance. I stayed from July 13th to 16th (3 nights), 2026, and wished I could have stayed longer. I missed breakfast because of an early start for the one-day tour, but I'd like to try it next time. I highly commend the staff for their kindness. Mr. Harada's friendly guidance was particularly impressive. My thanks and appreciation again. The meeting points for my one-day tour were Odori Park and Sapporo Station North Square. Odori Park Clock Tower was about a 6-minute walk, and the North Square was about 15 minutes. The birthday card and the beautiful view from the 21st floor made my entire stay delightful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sapporo and doing tours in the area, especially with the great free hot springs on the 14th floor.

We booked two rooms. The twin room in the South Wing was very spacious and relatively new, and the elevator was quite fast. The next day, we had Kaiseki dinner on the 13th floor. Honestly, I didn't quite understand the cuisine, but it was alright. I have to praise the hot spring area. The room provided each person with a cute basket to carry their belongings, and the bathhouse was quite large with a big hot spring pool. After a day of walking, a soak really soothed my tired legs immediately. The location is excellent, right in the city center, making it convenient to walk everywhere, with most places being about a 10-minute walk away. Finally, I want to highly commend the buffet breakfast. Our whole family thought it was delicious, with a wide variety and fresh options. We didn't even need to go out to buy breakfast as they had cantaloupe and ice cream. The seafood don, curry ramen, and bread were all delicious. The pictures show the Kaiseki dinner and areas within the hotel.

The location is quite convenient, right between Sapporo Station and Odori Park. You can walk to most places in about 10-15 minutes. The public bath was very comfortable, but if you're in the South Wing, you have to walk to the main building and then take an elevator upstairs.

My kids traveled to Japan and were very happy with their stay. They heard that there were many Koreans at B-kan and that the staff spoke Korean, which was a plus. They also enjoyed the hot spring every day after coming back to the hotel. They had a great time for a few days before returning to Korea.

This was a truly wonderful hotel. Upon entering the lobby, I was immediately struck by the beautiful artwork, which gave it an international feel. Both the trainees and the experienced staff at the front desk were incredibly polite and had excellent service attitudes. The rooms, and indeed the entire hotel, were clean and quiet. Even the sound of doors opening and closing was hushed. You could feel the thoughtfulness in every detail. The breakfast menu was extensive, and every dish was elaborately prepared and delicious. I dined there several times, trying both Japanese and Western options, but I couldn't try everything! I considered posting photos, but I decided against it, wanting to leave some surprises for future guests! The spa was spacious and relaxing. While there are other hotels in Sapporo with large spas, I personally found Hotel Monterey Edelhof to be more relaxing and enjoyable. When I told my family about it after returning home, they were so envious! I definitely plan to stay here again with my family next time.

The room was cleaned daily with no strange odors, the bed linen and duvet covers were spotless and neatly arranged, and the bathroom remained fresh and free of water stains, ensuring a peaceful stay. The front desk and room service staff were friendly, professional, and enthusiastic, truly deserving of a '5/5 Very Satisfied' rating! For the location, we gave it a 3/5 'Average,' mainly because it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the subway station or main shopping areas. This can be a bit inconvenient if you have luggage or if the weather is bad. However, the surroundings are quiet, perfect for couples who prefer a peaceful atmosphere. Plus, there are convenience stores and izakayas nearby, so daily amenities are decent.

Not only was the exterior beautiful, but the floors and rooms were lovely too. The spa was spacious and very relaxing. For breakfast, there was a wide variety of dishes; since I stayed two nights, I had Japanese food on the first day and Western food on the second. Everything was delicious.

We stayed in a triple room this time, which was quite spacious for Japan; we could even open a 23-inch suitcase. There's a convenience store right next to the hotel downstairs. We were on a self-driving trip, and the hotel parking was really small and hard to find a spot, so we had to look for parking nearby. The hotel offers a self-service laundry room, but there are only three machines, so there's often a queue. There are quite a few restaurants nearby, which is very convenient.

I don't think it's worth the money. We paid over $200 for one night (for a room without breakfast). It tries to be 'fancy/luxurious,' but in reality, it's nothing special at all. There wasn't even proper drip coffee in the room. You can't wear the hotel bathrobe to the spa. You can't throw away large trash (like shoe boxes). We wouldn't come back here a second time.
