My room was spotless—so clean and fresh, and completely non-smoking, which was a huge plus. I loved relaxing in the bathtub while taking in the view. Breakfast was a solid win with varieties of options, both international and Chinese. My favorite part was the freshly squeezed juice —such a nice touch! The Chinese restaurant downstairs was also great, especially the spicy chicken dish. If you like bold flavors, it's a must-try. The hotel offers four mineral hot bath pools, which looked super clean. They do come at an extra charge, but they seem worth it if you're looking to unwind. Speaking of relaxation, the spa was amazing! The lady massager was incredibly kind, helping me with my lower back pain after a long week of traveling. She even shared a tip—walking backward to ease the pain! The only downside was that during the spring season, there’s no air conditioning. If the room gets a bit warm, you’ll need to open the window for cooler air. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend this place!

It was a nice hotel and the room was comfortable, except that the in-room temperature couldn’t be adjusted… I understand that it was cold outside, but I couldn’t sleep when the temperature stayed at 26.5 centigrade throughout the entire night. I only managed to catch a bit of sleep after daybreak when I opened the balcony door to let some cold air in.

The massive Wutai Mountain Marriott combines a spectacular facility with polished and friendly service, nothing was too much for the ever present and willing staff. Wu Tai Shan is a gem of a place to visit and the comforts of the Marriott certainly put the cream on the cake.

This was the hotel I was most looking forward to during my trip to Shanxi. I didn't expect that I would end up spending more than 900 yuan to stay in the "dirtiest Marriott". Frankly, I don't even think this hotel deserves to be called a Marriott. Cleanliness: We booked a basic room (courtyard twin bed), and from the carpet to the tile floor, there were all kinds of hairs (I can't even say they were hairs) visible to the naked eye, some in clumps and some scattered on the ground. We called the hotel housekeeping manager upstairs, and he changed our room to a room of the same type on the third floor of the hotel and gave us two free breakfasts. However, it took the hotel nearly 20 minutes to find a room that was said to "meet our hygiene standards". I can't imagine how difficult it is for one of the "largest and leading hotel management companies in the world" to find a "clean room with no hair on the floor" for its guests. (Please see the picture for the sanitary conditions) Facilities: The first room the hotel arranged for us was on the first floor, the so-called courtyard room. Can you imagine that the "courtyard" of this courtyard room is actually empty (not even a table or chair)? The so-called courtyard is nothing more than an open space connecting the guest rooms to the hotel's green belt (a real open space with no facilities). Not only that, what's even more ridiculous is that the wallpaper on the wall next to the bed in the room we were assigned had mold spots due to water leakage or other unknown reasons. Many wooden door frames in the room were damaged to varying degrees. Even the clothes drying rack was broken (the screws of the bracket had fallen off and it fell on the floor of the room). How could Wutaishan Marriott have the nerve to sell a room like this for 980? Was it Fish Leong who gave you the courage? Later, due to hygiene issues, the hotel moved me to a room on the third floor. There was no courtyard at all, and the door led to a construction site across the street. Around 1:30 p.m., the construction site was still working, and the noise was directly facing the bed in our guest room. How "pleasant" was the construction sound? Please refer to the video below the comments. Service: Can you imagine that you drive to the hotel entrance and a lady who wants to check in needs to move a 26-inch large box from the trunk, while the concierge standing less than 3 steps away just stands there, indifferent? From checking in at the front desk to checking out, I hardly saw a single smiling face from the service staff in this hotel. Marriott, once known as the "world's best employer", can't even make its employees happy? How can such employees provide services worthy of the room rate? Others: I believe that many people book this Marriott hotel at a price of thousands of dollars just because of the promotional pictures on the hotel booking page. What about the view of Mount Wutai and the peaceful and quiet years? I won’t comment on whether they actually have such effects. I will put the comparison photos of the actual room scene of the “buyer’s show” and the hotel promotional pictures of the “seller’s show” below the comments for your convenience in comparison.

The natural environment and indoor environment of the room are very good. The comfort of the bedding is better than that of Shangri-La and Grand Hyatt. The height of the pillow is a little high. The breakfast is a little inferior. The breakfast of Jiuhuashan Dongya Hotel is the top breakfast in several scenic spots in Foshan.

The hotel is at the entrance of Wutai Mountain Scenic Area. When booking, there is a special reminder that the hotel is in the scenic area, and you need to buy tickets and book a vehicle to enter. This time, my luck was super bursting. I couldn't get tickets on the system during the May Day holiday. I received a push for no reason, and I got everything done at once. The hotel environment is very good. It is quiet to stay in a villa room. The supplies, towels and bedding are very comfortable, and the paper products can be improved. The service attitude of the staff is good, but the guests' needs conveyed by the front desk are a bit delayed in the execution link, but the manager on duty later sent snacks and fruits to express his apology. The breakfast selection is very rich and delicious. The gift shop next to the restaurant is very good. There are many small local specialties and the price is reasonable.

Facilities: At 10:00 pm, the floor drain started to make a loud pumping sound, and then bubbles started to appear under the toilet and dressing table floor drains. I called the front desk, but no one answered. The hair dryer didn't work, it made a tractor sound and smelled like burnt rubber. Environment: I booked a twin room with a view, but when I opened the balcony window, I saw tiles. The worst five-star hotel I've ever stayed in, it's really not worth the price of nearly 1,700 per night.
