Radisson Hotel Kandy

Overall, the hotel is quite decent: the staff is always ready to help, and the restaurant and bar offer delicious food (a varied selection at the buffet). The interior is a bit dated, but it's not a dealbreaker (the bedding and towels are clean). For its price, it's an excellent option.

We didn't have much time in Kandy, and the hotel is located halfway up a hill. After resting, walking to the Temple of the Tooth was a bit tiring on the legs. Overall, the breakfast, dinner, and check-in experience were quite good.

The suite with a lake view smelled like a cellar or basement. When I turned on the air conditioning, I could practically hear mold spores flying around! Seriously though, there was just an awful, damp, and musty smell in the rooms. I tried to change rooms, but they were all the same. I attempted to cancel my booking, but the hotel didn't acknowledge my complaints and didn't refund my money. The rooms are run-down. I stayed at the hotel for only an hour and fled, practically losing my shoes. I came to relax, not to get asthma. So, seriously consider if you want dampness in your room when you're on vacation in such a wonderful place. I didn't try the breakfast, and if you're coming by car, the access road is steep and not very convenient.

Honestly, it's a pretty standard hotel, but I really liked it because it was comfortable. The hotel was clean, and the balcony overlooked Kandy Lake, offering picturesque views. The rooftop bar had a great promotion on beer, which was a nice bonus! The hotel's location is super convenient, close to everything. Plus, while there aren't many elegant and pleasant neighborhoods in Sri Lanka, this one definitely is!

Initially, the hotel couldn't find our booking, but after 1.5 hours, they managed to sort everything out. While we waited, they offered us a complimentary drink on the rooftop terrace. Our room was very well prepared. Although they can be a bit slow with some things, requiring a bit of patience, they are very friendly and accommodating.
