Even though the hall is very nice and the rooms are ok, the personnel welcome and overall behaviour left us very disappointed. We arrived at 10 PM after a long trip by train and we did not receive any “hello” nor “welcome” (not even in Chinese, which al we are used to). We were brought to our room without one single word of description or explanation about anything, not even about the breakfast we payed for, nor the time for check-out. So we went back to the reception to ask for these information, and we also wanted to ask for some advice on how to buy the tickets for the Mogoa caves. They didn’t even look at us while asking them for support via google translate (obviously they don’t talk in English, but no problem with that). They were very cold and annoyed in telling us that it was IMPOSSIBLE to enter the Mogoa caves if we did not reserve with large advance the tickets. We explained we were not able to reserve the tickets because a Chinese passport number was required (we are Italian, we have Italian passports). The best part comes the next day: we did not listen to their statements and we went to the Mogoa caves and guess what? The personnel there was much kinder and more competent than the hotel staff, and we had a great day visiting the Mogoa caves. It’s quite surprising how the hotel staff was bad informed about touristic attraction in their own city. The impression they gave us is that foreign guests are not welcome at all, they should mention it on the description so that foreigners can choose accordingly. Just a suggestion for the staff: for the future, please don’t provide false information to foreign tourists, they could think that Chinese people is that incompetent and rude, which is absolutely not! First and only bad experience at a hotel in China, what a pity.
