Since the usual branch is currently undergoing renovations, I decided to give Eastside a try — and I was very impressed! The rooms here felt slightly more spacious than the usual branch, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Another thing I really enjoyed was the range of activities available during our stay. There were fun Japanese-themed activities such as lantern making, candle making, and Japanese fan painting, which added a nice touch to the hotel experience and made the stay feel more special. The hotel operates more like an apartment-style stay, so housekeeping is slightly different from a conventional hotel. Towels and trash are simply left outside the room, and the housekeeping team will replace them with fresh ones. The staff generally do not enter your room, which is actually quite nice if you prefer more privacy and minimal interruptions. The room was also well equipped with ReFa haircare products, including a ReFa hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and body soap — a nice bonus, especially for anyone who is a fan of the popular Japanese haircare brand. The only small suggestion would be the pillows. I personally found them a little too soft, so having a firmer option or a choice of different pillow types would be fantastic. Other than that, everything was really great! I had a very comfortable stay and would definitely consider staying at Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Eastside again, even after the original Shinjuku branch reopens. Highly recommended! 🇯🇵✨
