This is a sophisticated hotel in a highly strategic location, within walking distance of the museum, gardens, and Suzhou’s old town.
The room is superb—every detail is thoughtfully designed and executed to a very high standard. It is quiet, comfortable, and the heating system works perfectly.
The staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful, and flexible. Notably, this is the only hotel we experienced in China where the staff personally greeted us upon arrival from the taxi, creating a very warm first impression.
Complimentary afternoon tea and coffee were also provided, and they were a delightful touch.

I chose Zhuojian Hotel, right next to the museum, for my trip to Suzhou.

Everything was pretty good!

**The environment was truly excellent:** It's an old mansion (and you can even go listen to Pingtan [storytelling and ballad singing] nearby). The interior has a garden-style layout, showcasing extreme Song-era aesthetics, with a beautiful view at every turn. The rooms have a rustic Chinese style, are clean, and the heating was very strong.

**The service was quite good:** Not only did they offer two complimentary services (afternoon tea and coffee), but the staff were also very patient, meticulous, and attentive.

**The transportation was also good:** The exit is directly opposite the Line 6 subway station 🚇. It’s a 5-minute walk to the museum and the Humble Administrator's Garden, and Pingjiang Road is just a 10-minute walk away.
