The location is absolutely fantastic, nestled within the tranquil villa complex of Shantang Street, making it perfect for families traveling with seniors and children. The Bulgari toiletries are a great touch! 👍 The hotel offers a wide range of activities, like sutra copying and incense burning. Both the dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were delicious. The free Hanfu photos they helped us take were also stunning. Highly recommended!

Due to Mid-Autumn Festival traffic control on Shantang Street, we couldn't drive our car directly to the parking lot. The hotel thoughtfully arranged a tricycle to pick us up, and when we left, a car took us to an outer parking area. The service was warm and very considerate. We could also buy boat tickets from the hotel, and a dedicated staff member escorted us to the pier. Even with crowd control on Shantang Street, we didn't have to queue as we could enter directly through the hotel. Overall, it's a hotel with significant advantages and great value for money.

The hotel is pretty good, right outside is Shantang Street, making it convenient for sightseeing and dining. The hotel views are pleasant, but the room facilities could use some upgrades. The breakfast selection was a bit limited.

Pros: ・Excellent location, right on Shantang Street scenic area. ・Charming, retro-style hotel with its own courtyard and beautiful views. ・Staff were very friendly and welcoming. ・The room's slippers and toiletries were very refined. Cons: ・Room facilities felt a bit dated. The set-top box connection was loose, and the TV wouldn't display anything. After a lot of fiddling and trying to unplug and replug the HDMI cable, it finally worked. ・Couldn't get the air conditioning right in the Sheng Yuan room (second floor). Even after trying several times before checking out, it seemed like the touch panel in the living room controlled the bedroom's AC, and the bedroom's panel controlled the living room's AC... I've already reported this to the butler, and they said they'd check it out.

The environment is excellent, right on Shantang Street, which is very convenient. The hotel views are also great. The room was clean and tidy, and it was a standalone unit.

Post-80s couple brings kids and dog for a vacation at a Suzhou garden hotel. 📍Shantang Residence 🚗 1 hour 15 minutes from Shanghai (Be sure to arrive early, otherwise there might be traffic control ‼️) 🏡 The Chinese courtyard room with a small yard is super cozy, and little Lekou (the dog) is also super happy. The hotel even prints out a photo of the dog in advance – 💯 for thoughtfulness! And the amenities and mini-bar provided are the most comprehensive I've ever seen. The hotel is right in the heart of Shantang Street, truly within the entire garden area. Even though it's in a scenic spot, it's not noisy at all. The hotel's facilities are quite rich: pet bikes, outdoor play area, a book bar, and a Su-style restaurant, etc. It even has its own century-old garden. What I'm most satisfied with is the staff's enthusiasm; you can really feel the concept of mutual respect for pets. Little Lekou also had a blast, with dogs everywhere and humans praising her cuteness. The service was excellent, and the hotel environment was beautiful. Located right on Shantang Street, it's incredibly convenient for getting around, making it perfect for family trips, especially with elderly members. The hotel's food was also very good!

The room's location is excellent, right on Shantang Street. It's a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, a hidden gem with a beautiful garden-style design. The soundproofing is also superb, making it very quiet and comfortable to stay in. Highly recommended!

The room was great, and check-in was a breeze even though I arrived early. The courtyard is absolutely beautiful, and it's super convenient for sightseeing. Definitely worth another visit.
