Bailbrook House Hotel, Bath

Lovely hotel. Gems on the front desk was amazing! Super friendly and really helpful. Would highly recommend and would book again. Room was lovely and breakfast had great options.

Really friendly greeting on arrival. Good sized room and comfortable beds. Evening meal on arrival day good. Good to have spacious car parking.

The main building is beautiful but you don’t stay there. The rooms are located next to the main building. Unlike other castle hotels we stayed, you only checked in at the main entrance of the castle. Breakfast was good.

The ambiance of the hotel and grounds were truly lovely. Only wished it was closer to Bath central.

Bailbrook House is a simple bait and switch operation. Looks like a lovely old house on a hill with high ceilings and views over Bath on the website. So you book a room for a London scale price of £257, even though you're in Somerset. When you arrive, you are shown politely round the back to a 1990's vintage conference centre complex, where you also get the privilege of having your breakfast the next morning. If you ask about the room you were expecting in the old house, you're told with a smile there is one available but that would be an extra £120 per night for 'the upgrade', and a resulting Park Avenue scale price of £377 for the night. You're better off going to the Premier Inn down the hill. At least you'll be closer to the ever lovely Star Inn.

The hotel was amazing. From the clean rooms to yummy breakfast ( huge choice) to helpful and friendly staff and lastly the lovely and friendly staff at the bar and restaurant area. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at The Bailbrook House Hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and all the food was excellent. We had a small issue at breakfast as were quite late coming in for it and some of the fruit had gone, however having said that the poached egg and avocado on sourdough I had was to die for, and was delicious, and the full english was very good too. All in all it was all very enjoyable stay and would definitely return, and recommend the hotel to friends and family.
