I have stayed in many hotels across Japan, and apart from its convenient location near the station, this is by far the worst hotel room I have experienced.
When we checked in, there was a patch of oily liquid on the desk, making it obvious that the room had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. In addition, every furniture surface was covered with a noticeable layer of dust. I have attached a photo showing the amount of dust on the bed's headboard.
Given the condition of the room, I believe the bedding was also dusty, which likely contributed to me becoming unwell, as I have a dust allergy. The carpet was old and appeared to be heavily dust-laden as well. It was the kind of room where simply taking a few steps seemed to stir dust into the air.
I am genuinely surprised that a reputable hotel brand would deliver such a poor standard of housekeeping. Cleanliness is one of the most basic expectations of any hotel, and unfortunately, this room fell far below that standard
