Hakata Green Hotel No.1

The environment is nice, and they offer both Western and Japanese breakfast options. The Western breakfast is actually served at an Italian restaurant, with a limited variety of dishes. It has a street view, isn't noisy, and the staff are very friendly. It's a great place to relax and unwind.

The hotel is conveniently located about 200 meters to the left from Hakata Station's Chikushi Exit. The room was a bit small. I didn't book breakfast; I chose this place solely for its location.

This hotel, opened in 2024, boasts relatively new facilities. The location is excellent, very close to JR Hakata Station. You can reach it in just 3-5 minutes on foot by turning left after exiting the Chikushi Gate. There are also many convenience stores and restaurants nearby, and JR Hakata Station itself has a mall for shopping. Both check-in and check-out are self-service, done via machines. Do note that there's a 200 yen accommodation tax upon check-in, so it's good to have cash or coins ready. As for service, since everything is self-service for check-in and check-out, there's not much interaction to speak of. The room size is standard for Japan, so it might be a bit challenging to fully open a large suitcase. Cleanliness was acceptable.

The hotel's location is great, just a 7-8 minute walk from the subway and JR Hakata Station exits. For check-in, the front desk directed me straight to the self-service machine. I booked two different room types, and both were end-of-corridor rooms, which seems like too high a probability. It took a long time to walk to them from the elevator. Also, both rooms had blocked windows with no view. In Japan, hotels usually require a room key card to access floors, but here, any key card could open any floor, which lacks security and rigor. On the first day of my stay, there wasn't even bottled water in the room. It was only replenished on the second and third days. The most troublesome part was that after checking out, storing luggage incurred an additional charge. It was 2000 yen per suitcase… that's a significant fee. In the end, I sent it to the JR station, but it was very inconvenient. Although I knew about the luggage storage fee before checking in, finding another place to store it was truly inconvenient.

The location is super convenient, really close to Hakata Station. It's easy to get anywhere from here, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby.
