Every time I visit Xining, I stay at the Sofitel Residence; it feels like coming home. This time, I especially want to mention Auntie Han, who cleaned my room. She was so meticulous and thoughtful (you can see the note she left me in the picture). I don't know how she figured out I have trouble sleeping, but she made me feel like someone was silently caring for me in a strange city far from home. Also, the cultural and creative products in the hotel lobby bar are worth checking out; there are many healing-themed cute little items (you can see the one I picked up in the picture).

Specifically came to Nishino to see the cicadas and stayed for 5 days, so I booked this hotel apartment. The room has a washing machine for laundry and a stove to heat up food. It happened to be Mid-Autumn Festival, and the housekeeping ladies brought us mooncakes every day. When we needed to do laundry, they even gave us plenty of laundry detergent. The Sofitel hotel shares a common lobby, and there are robots to deliver items to your room. However, there were no children's toothbrushes or slippers, and I had to call to request them. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and spoke English. They helped us receive our Tibet Travel Permit and organised us cooking ware, as this was not provided with the room. We also could do our laundry and got plenty of free water, as well as free coffee in the cafe shop in the lobby. It was very comfortable!

The hotel is clean, location is great to the nearby supermarket, shopping malls and the wildlife park. Many restaurants around. It would be great if there's dryer attached with washing machine. Breakfast is great, blended with both western and Chinese selections. I came back to stay with Sebel after my previous stay because of the friendly and informative stuffs who have helped me with the luggages and check in. However, why I rated the service with lower point because after I came back to stay for 2 consecutive nights, we have encountered different stuffs that gave totally opposite vibes, which were arrogant and no greetings, no smile.

We booked a hotel apartment, and the space was incredibly generous – a 120-square-meter two-bedroom suite. The hotel staff thoughtfully provided plenty of bottled water and laundry detergent, and the room was equipped with a washing machine. The self-service breakfast was abundant and delicious!
