Huo Yuanjia Memorial

Jingwu Town is the hometown of the renowned patriotic martial artist Huo Yuanjia. The Jingwu Athletic Association, founded by Huo Yuanjia, has been established for 108 years and now spans over 30 countries with more than 60 branches worldwide. Leveraging this unique historical and cultural resource, Jingwu Town has deeply explored the essence of Jingwu culture—patriotism, self-cultivation, justice, and helping others—striving to transform the town into a renowned cultural and tourism destination. The town has high-standard plans and has initiated the construction of the Huo Yuanjia Memorial, a cultural industry hub integrating martial arts exchanges, sightseeing experiences, and leisure tourism with rich Jingwu cultural characteristics. It is a national AAAA-level attraction and a key project in Tianjin's cultural and tourism industry. The memorial is also a historical and cultural resource preserved and developed by Xiqing District, where martial culture is one of the district's eight major cultural themes.

The Huo Yuanjia Memorial consists of "two halls and one garden," namely the Huo Yuanjia Memorial Hall, Huo Yuanjia Memorial Garden, and Jingwu Hall (currently closed). The Huo Yuanjia Memorial Hall covers an area of 132 mu with a building area of 12,602 square meters. This three-story building features a Taiji diagram structure and comprehensively showcases Huo Yuanjia's legendary life and the founding and development of the Jingwu Association. The Huo Yuanjia Memorial Garden spans 110 mu with a building area of 3,533 square meters, serving as a place for Jingwu enthusiasts and visitors worldwide to pay respects. The Jingwu Hall occupies 138 mu with a building area of 30,000 square meters and a total investment of CNY 400 million.

To promote and carry forward the martial spirit, the Huo Yuanjia Memorial hosted the World Jingwu Martial Arts Cultural Exchange Conference in 1992, 2010, 2012, and 2018, the Centennial Heroes Gathering of Huo Yuanjia, and the World Jingwu Huo Yuanjia Heroes Gathering commemorating the 150th anniversary of Huo Yuanjia's birth. It also successfully organized events such as the "Snow Night" Beer Festival, the First Jingwu Ice and Snow Carnival, the First Tianjin China Light Aircraft Low-Altitude Flight Carnival, performances by the Russian Circus, the Spring Festival Temple Fair, the "Glory of Tianjin Martial Arts" - 2018 Tianjin Huo Yuanjia Tourism Festival Opening Ceremony, the Huo Yuanjia Martial Arts Tourism Festival in Jingwu Town, and the Children's Dream Chasing 2019 June 1st Large-Scale Activity Jingwu Town Sub-Venue. The domestic and international influence of the Huo Yuanjia Memorial attraction has been steadily growing.
