Posada Peñas Arriba

Traditional mountain Inn situated in quiet village with river nearby. After a miscalculation of journey time we arrived very early (around 1pm) but still received a warm welcome from the owners and were shown to our rooms to relax. The place has a fantastic retro look and is spotlessly clean, our lovely room had a tiny balcony on one side, sofa and great bedding. There was a roomy guest lounge upstairs that would be great for groups. It has a bar and restaurant serving good local fare. The breakfast was superb with so much food including freshly made pancakes! One of our favourite stays during a bike tour of Spain&Portugal, we hope to return and would recommend to anyone seeking authentic hospitality 🥰

Last night of a motorcycle tour of Spain and Portugal Location was great - out of Portes town and just a few hours ride to Santander Hotel was dated but clean and tidy. Rooms need modernising Friendly staff. Evening meal was great but breakfast disappointing

comfortable lodgings, my room had a balcony that was pleasing to sit in, the service was good and patient and informative. it was fun to walk around this very tiny town and the road on which we arrived. so many different flowers in this season. seems like other guests can to hike.

Well situated and charming Only one pillow and large like the bed !!! The rest was OK.

A Unique Old Fashioned Bed and Breakfast This is a unique place. It has a lot of character and is nestled into a small town in Spain. They spoke fairly good English and were quick to respond to our requests and available at all hours. The only confusing thing we ran into was we expected a traditional continental breakfast which was what the concierge called the breakfast. However, it wasn’t. The kitchen staff served the simple breakfast and it wasn’t an all you can eat. They simply brought a drink per person, 2 small pancakes per person, a slice of sweet bread, 2 slices of bread and small packed jelly and butter. I would suggest ordering from their breakfast menu which has a better selection and is pretty decently priced. Overall, I really loved the place.

Basic but nice accomodation in a sleepy village with little else. Restaurant food was nice but a bit expensive as was the beer. no other options available without a long drive to another village.

We spent a lovely 3 days in this pretty and friendly hotel. It had a real family run feel to it and we felt very well looked after. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable and we had a beautiful wide balcony with stunning mountain views. The village is very peaceful and unspoilt and made a perfect base for exploring the eastern side of the Picos de Europa.
