Mingyuan Hotel

I heard Mingyuan's dim sum breakfast was famous, so I booked this hotel. I saw bad reviews for Building 1, saying it was old and dated, so I specifically booked Building 2. It turned out to be a huge disappointment. Let's start with the pros: The location is great, not far from attractions like Sanjie Liangxiang, and a taxi ride is only a few yuan. It's very quiet. Their dim sum breakfast offers good value for money. Now for the many cons: 1. Poor hygiene. When we checked in, there was a lot of hair on the floor, which we had to pick up ourselves because we couldn't stand it. 2. Poor service. The front desk is in Building 1, and Building 2 is entirely self-service. What's more, a cleaner swiped their card and entered our room while we were already checked in and relaxing – management is extremely chaotic. 3. Poor facilities. The room was very damp, and the comforter was soaking wet. It proves that an old Porsche still can't compare to a new energy vehicle. I'd advise anyone considering booking here to think twice. It's probably better to look for another hotel nearby.

This hotel offers great value for money. It's centrally located, not far from anywhere, but also not directly in the bustling areas. It's a bit of a walk to get to lively spots, but easy enough by electric scooter. The hotel has a nice swimming pool, and you get one free swim per day. It's an older four-star hotel, so the facilities are a bit dated, but everything is still in good working order.

This hotel boasts an excellent location with convenient transportation. The environment is superb, feeling just like being in a large park. The breakfast is also quite good. Their morning tea at Building 5 is a signature feature and highly recommended – it tastes great and is quite popular. Overall, I'm very satisfied! Thumbs up!

Returning to Nanning from Detian Waterfall, we were quite tired from the journey and just picked a random hotel to stay in Building 1. We're flying back to Shanghai tomorrow. Upon arrival, the front desk staff warmly welcomed us two seniors and even upgraded our room to Building 2, which was newly renovated. It was truly clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. Many thanks again to all the staff.

First off, the pillows were ridiculously high, like sleeping on a brick wall. I woke up with a stiff neck after just one night. Can't they provide lower pillows? Plus, there were some unidentified tiny critters on the pillows. Lastly, the showerhead was so encrusted with limescale you could probably scrape it off and make tea with it. I had a terrible night's sleep.

As a state-owned enterprise, this hotel really needs to step up its reforms. Nowadays, most hotels offer a complete laundry service with washers and dryers, but here you have to find an external laundry facility and pay for it. The staff rarely smile, or perhaps it's just a matter of time before they do.

This hotel offers great value for money. It's clean, has a large parking lot, and a pleasant environment. The breakfast is a bit simple, but despite being in a busy downtown area, the hotel is surprisingly quiet. Very good overall.
