It doesn't rely on scenery, but rather on its rusty rails, faded French-style buildings, and silent platforms to tell the story of the early 20th century's glory and sorrow. If you have a strong interest in modern history, railway culture, or humanistic photography, this is a worthwhile visit. The French-style yellow-walled, red-tiled station buildings, old-fashioned steam locomotives, and retro station signs create a wonderful atmosphere for photos. It was also a filming location for the movie "Youth." 💐Because it required traversing many high mountains, the terrain was complex, the environment harsh, and the gradients steep, making its construction incredibly difficult. The Yunnan-Vietnam Railway uses a 1-meter gauge (the standard gauge is 1.435 meters), hence the name "meter-gauge railway." The narrow gauge is better suited for building on complex mountainous terrain with sharp curves and steep slopes, which is one of the highlights. 🌺 Bisezhai is the core station of the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway built during the French colonial period. This railway, Yunnan's first international railway, connects Kunming, China, with Haiphong, Vietnam, and was once a vital passage for Southwest China to the world. 🌼In the early 20th century, Bisezhai became a trading hub, attracting French, Vietnamese, and local merchants, creating a unique multicultural atmosphere. It once housed customs houses, post offices, bars, and hotels. Besides the scenery, there are also local delicacies: Jianshui's braised tofu is incredibly delicious, and the aroma of it roasting over a fire will have you salivating! In Yunnan, swallows are revered as birds of good fortune and happiness. Every household in Yunnan reserves nesting areas for them under the eaves. Every winter, the swallows return to build their nests, and they are very selective about where they nest, bringing joy to any household they visit! In spring, the chirping of baby swallows heralds the arrival of spring, a new year, and new life... The arrival of the swallows brings happiness, peace, and vitality...

M39***74Qinghe Homestay deserves high praise! Located in the ancient city, the location is unbeatable. The fourth-floor room has amazing natural light; you can watch the sunrise in the morning, and the sunlight streaming in is incredibly soothing. The mattress is also very comfortable and relaxing. The room is impeccably clean; the sheets and blankets are spotless, and the whole place is tidy and organized. A comfortable and pleasant stay—choosing this place when visiting the ancient city is definitely the right decision!

Jianshui was formerly known as Lin'an Prefecture, and it shares a lineage with Hangzhou (then called Lin'an), the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty. The temple is not only a place for worshipping Confucius, but also a testament to the integration of Ming and Qing architecture, Confucian education, and frontier culture. Its magnificent "sea of learning" (a semicircular pond), exquisite stone carvings, and profound cultural heritage make it an unmissable historical and cultural landmark in Yunnan.

爱旅行的坑子The scenery along the way wasn't great, especially on the road from the first stop, which was mostly residential buildings and a bit distracting. It improved a lot later on, and each stop was worth seeing. Overall, the photos turned out better than the experience itself.

Starting as Dongfeng Farm in 2014, it has gradually developed into a distinctive town integrating grape culture, natural scenery, and cultural tourism. The Kaleidoscope Art Museum, a popular spot for online influencers, was designed by Mile-born artist Luo Xu. The architecture blends wine culture and Yi ethnic fire culture, presented as a red brick castle shaped like wine bottles and flames, constructed without a single steel bar or nail, earning it the reputation of a "magical castle of futuristic magic." • Half a Cloud: Continuing the architectural style of the Kaleidoscope Art Museum, it resembles "half a cloud on the horizon," with layers of exterior walls resembling continuous clouds. The interior features a Zen-inspired tea and rest space, a popular spot for tourists to relax and take photos. • The Lavender Theme Park is known as the "Provence of Central Yunnan." • Niu Duoluo Music Farm • State Farm Exhibition Hall: A red-brick industrial-style building displaying farm tools and archives of educated youth from the reclamation period. • Admission: Adult ticket 60 yuan/person, students enjoy half price, sightseeing bus within the scenic area 20 yuan/person. Expensive! • Transportation: After arriving at "Mile Station", it's about a 10-minute taxi ride to the scenic area; from Kunming by car, it's about a 1.5-hour drive. Convenient!

Anonymous userThe scenic area isn't very large. After entering the gate, I bought tickets for the magic carpet for my parents. The magic carpet didn't have any safety features, which made me feel a bit unsafe. Inside the scenic area, there are several photo spots at the tropics boundary, which are quite nice.

StoneAfter a one-hour boat ride, we arrived at Swan Lake. Swan Lake is beautiful. Since it's December, it's the off-season, so there weren't many tourists. There were no places to eat near the entrance, so we finally found a place to eat at Xianrendong Village. I recommend bringing some snacks if you come during the off-season, as the ticket price is quite expensive. I suggest just visiting Swan Lake and skipping the boat ride.
