A great place to see authentic archaeology. The Soldier Cave is highly recommended. Unfortunately, I missed the show due to lack of time. The camel ride was affordable. The so-called special transportation options, aside from the tractor, were just average. The museum and the Soldier Cave offer free guided tours, which was highly recommended.

Visiting Yinchuan during the off-season is so great! Although there are fewer attractions than in the summer, it feels like having the whole place to yourself. You don't have to queue for any of them, making for a fantastic experience.

The Ningxia Museum is a seriously underrated gem! If you think it's just a "Western Xia artifacts exhibition hall," you're missing out on so many surprises. 【Three Must-See Reasons】 A Three-Dimensional Cross-Section of the Silk Road: From Northern Dynasties Silk Road relics to Tang Dynasty Sogdian Whirl Dance stone carvings, the artifacts connect not only the history of Ningxia, but also a vivid scene of the collision between Central Asian civilization and the Central Plains. The gilded bronze ox and the stone Sogdian Whirl Dance lintel are the heart and soul of the museum, but even more breathtaking are the restored Northern Dynasties mural tombs—instantly transporting you to an ancient frontier where diverse beliefs coexisted. The Architecture Itself is a Work of Art: The U-shaped dome design subtly reflects the concept of "round heaven and square earth," allowing natural light to pour down from the top, illuminating the Western Xia-themed relief walls, where light and shadow flow with time. Even without the artifacts, this building, blending Islamic style with Han symmetry, is worth a special trip. The Overlooked "Hidden Path": Most people head straight to the Western Xia Hall on the second floor, but it's recommended to first visit the rock painting exhibition hall on the first floor. Those ancient gazes and symbols carved into the stones will become the "code" to understanding the artifacts you see later—the origins of the Western Xia totems are hidden here. 【Avoidance Guide】 Off-peak Tip: Enter 1.5 hours before closing time on weekday afternoons for a private experience. Guided Tour Tip: Instead of renting an electronic guide, try the free guided tours (one in the morning and one in the afternoon), where guides often add anecdotes from the archaeological sites. Bonus Floor: Don't miss the temporary exhibitions on the top floor; recent exhibitions have featured Afghan treasures and Helan Mountain minerals—the quality is amazing. 【Mind-Blowing Details】 The glass display cases are made of low-reflective material, so you don't need to avoid reflections when taking photos. The rest area has a touchscreen kiosk for Western Xia documents, allowing you to access the full digitized text of the *Jixiang Bianzhi Kouhe Benxu*. In the corner of the cultural and creative shop, there are "artifact restoration experience kits" where you can assemble porcelain model pieces yourself. If I had to nitpick, perhaps the interactive installations are a bit dated. But when you stand before the Kalavinka glazed roof ornament, watching the blue-green glaze still flow from a thousand years ago—this direct confrontation with the pinnacle of civilization—it more than makes up for any shortcomings. I recommend allowing at least four hours. After viewing the exhibition, head to the rooftop terrace for a panoramic view of the Helan Mountains' skyline interwoven with the modern city. At that moment, you'll suddenly understand: the most precious exhibit in a museum is time itself.

I didn't make an appointment to go to the Ningxia Museum, so I made an appointment to go to the Geological Museum instead. There are three and a half floors, but only two floors can be visited. I think an hour is enough. There are many children on the first floor, which is quite noisy. However, many real objects in the Ningxia Museum are placed for close viewing, which is very good.

Lanshan Park is undoubtedly the most popular tourist attraction in Yinchuan. The park features a large, shimmering lake. Beside the lake is a standard football field. Surrounding the field on three sides are tall stands. If that were all, it would just be a decent park. The most striking feature is the row of buildings atop the stands. These buildings are decorated in a classic European style. Those who watched Saint Seiya as children will remember the Zodiac Palaces; this architectural style is reminiscent of Greek mythology. Actually, this row of buildings has no practical significance; it's just a long corridor. The focus is on the design, but even that is enough to make it incredibly popular online. #FreePark #Yinchuan #Ningxia #Stadium #Park #CityPark #Stadium #WeekendGetaway #CaptureBeautifulMoments #NingxiaTourism

I specifically visited this place because of the opening credits of "A Chinese Odyssey." Seeing Zixia boating among the reeds, accompanied by a melodious tune, brought back memories of thirty years ago. It takes about an hour to drive here from Yinchuan. The price is a bit expensive; the entrance fee plus transportation costs nearly 200 yuan per person. It feels overdeveloped, with too many unnecessary facilities added for commercial purposes, disrupting the original tranquility and serene natural beauty. The roaring seaplanes and speedboats, and the incredibly long return trip (from the island to the sand dunes to the pier, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk). If you're short on time, this isn't a must-see attraction in Yinchuan.

After visiting Yinchuan, we went to the Huaiyuan Tourist Night Market to sample a variety of delicious food. We were particularly impressed by the one-meter-long skewers, which cost 25 yuan each and could easily be shared by three women. They were incredibly delicious. The grilled lamb chops were 12 yuan a skewer, made entirely of small ribs, and the meat was incredibly tender. We also had freshly skewered lamb shanks, which satisfied our craving for the rich, tender lamb. We also waited in line for spicy noodles, delicious and juicy pan-fried dumplings, and a grandpa's homemade fermented glutinous rice wine with milk and eggs. We couldn't get enough!

Most people might just visit the Corner Tower ruins and leave. My family of three walked around the west city for about an hour. The path was relatively easy to follow (there were some dirt roads), not crowded, and we even saw the archaeologists at work. It was a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed the site and it deepened my understanding of the Sixteen Kingdoms period.

Longyu Winery, nestled at the foot of Helan Mountain, is an absolute gem for any Ningxia traveler! Every snapshot is a European-style masterpiece, making you feel like you've stepped into a European manor. The entire experience was a delightful surprise! A professional guide led us through the winery, from rows of aging oak barrels in the underground cellars to the century-old culture of the second-floor wine museum, and the air was filled with the rich aroma of wine. Even checking out our newest vintage wines felt like a special occasion. The tasting and souvenirs included in the ticket are incredibly good value. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Yinchuan!

Nine tombs of the kings of Western Xia and more than 140 accompanying tombs with the remains of key members of the imperial family and aristocrats are located according to the contours of the terrain on an area of 50 km2 on the eastern side of Helan Shan. Each tomb was an independent architectural complex with an area of over 100,000 m2 with turrets, arches, stele pavilions, outer walls, inner cities, memorial halls, pagoda-shaped altars and walls for worship. Very interesting spot.
