$Had to check out the Ritz-Carlton while I was over in Montreal. It’s located at 1228 Sherbrooke Street West in the Golden Square Mile. Dead easy to get to—just a 5-minute walk from Peel metro station, and it's right next to McGill University. Here’s my honest, no-nonsense breakdown of the place: · *The Vibe & Rooms** It’s a massive historical building from 1912, but they’ve spent a fortune modernising the inside. Rooms start around 37㎡. You get heated marble floors in the bathroom, posh Egyptian cotton sheets, and smart tech everywhere. It’s comfortable, but you’re definitely paying a massive premium for the brand name. · *The Food (The main event)** · **Maison Boulud:** This is the on-site French restaurant by Daniel Boulud. They use local Quebec ingredients. The food is actually decent—well-executed and pretty refined. There's a nice glass greenhouse and garden terrace to eat in. It’s expensive, but if you want a proper sit-down meal, it's alright. · **Palm Court Afternoon Tea:** Being from the UK, I have high standards for tea and scones. They’ve been doing this since 1912. The finger sandwiches were okay, but the price tag is ridiculous. Honestly? Not worth it. You can get a massive pile of better food at a local market for a fraction of the cost. · **Dom Pérignon Bar:** Apparently the only one in North America. Overpriced bubbles. Skip it and find a proper local bar instead. · *The Facilities** The indoor saltwater pool on the roof is actually brilliant. Great views of the Montreal skyline and open late. They also have a spa, but the prices are eye-watering. · *Verdict** Great location if you want to walk to the museums or university, and the French restaurant is decent. But overall, it's not great value for money. If you're on a student budget, stick to Montreal's local diners and street food. Value: 6/10 (Too expensive for what it is) Food: 7.5/10$
