Starting in October 2027, Qantas will launch the worlds first nonstop flight between London and Sydney. This new route is part of Project Sunrise, a decade-long initiative aimed at connecting the UK and Australia without the need for transit stops. The flight will be operated using the Airbus A350-1000ULR, a wide-body aircraft designed for ultra-long-range travel, equipped with additional fuel tanks to support up to 22 hours of nonstop flight. The estimated travel time for this route is about 19 hours, which is expected to reduce the journey by up to four hours compared to current flights that require layovers. Qantas plans to receive 12 Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft, each offering 238 seats across four cabin classes. Tickets for this nonstop service are scheduled to go on sale in February 2027. The launch marks a significant milestone in Qantass history, reflecting its commitment to overcoming distance barriers and providing greater convenience for travelers.
