The Ritz-Carlton Sanya, Yalong Bay

My stay at The Ritz-Carlton Sanya was absolutely perfect; I was thoroughly impressed. The hotel is surrounded by lush coconut groves, and the gardens are meticulously maintained and beautiful. The private beach and pool offer expansive, breathtaking views. The service was impeccable. Every staff member was warm, polite, and attentive. My dedicated butler was incredibly responsive, and I have to give a special shout-out to Jennifer – she truly deserves a full 5-star rating! She addressed every request, big or small, promptly and efficiently, genuinely going above and beyond to be helpful, thoughtful, and detailed in her service. Her sincerity shone through in every interaction. Breakfast offered an incredibly rich selection, featuring a complete array of both Chinese and Western dishes. There were also specialty made-to-order noodles, all prepared with fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. The variety was excellent and catered to different tastes. Overall, my stay was a perfect 10/10. I couldn't find a single fault with the environment, service, or dining.

The Sanya Ritz-Carlton | Came in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised! Before I left, I saw so many posts saying this place was 'old and outdated' and 'not worth it,' so I was pretty nervous... But on the day of check-in, the front desk upgraded our room for free! 🎉 The room overlooked the gardens and sea as soon as you opened the curtains. It was much better maintained than I expected; the wooden furniture, though older, was very clean and didn't feel dilapidated at all. The breakfast was delicious, with various pastries, freshly squeezed juices, rice noodles, and sushi – just no mangoes or lychees. I especially want to commend my butler, Jalen! 🙌 From the moment we started communicating on WeChat, he was incredibly patient – helping arrange parent-child decorations, recommending restaurants, and reminding us about sunset times. He replied instantly to any questions, and his attitude was gentle and approachable. The Ritz's service foundation is truly still there! 🏖️ One minor drawback: it's a bit of a walk (a few minutes) from the guest room to the beach lounge chair area. Walking in flip-flops under the hot sun can be a bit warm, but the beach itself has good sand and isn't too crowded, so once you lie down, it's very comfortable. ✅ Summary: If you appreciate a classic resort feel and value service over chasing new, trendy hotels, this place is definitely not a miss. Don't be deterred by the overly negative reviews online; you really have to experience it for yourself to know!

We extended our stay for two more days because we felt so at home and received incredibly warm and genuine service. Even though it was a busy weekend, all the staff at the Executive Lounge, as well as the beach and pool service teams, were as enthusiastic and welcoming as ever. We truly appreciate it, especially since we ate all five meals a day at the Executive Lounge.

The Ritz was where my child, at three and a half years old, first experienced Sanya, and I meticulously chose it as the very best hotel in Sanya at that time. Every visit, we've opted for the Ritz-Carlton Garden View Room and Ritz-Carlton Pool View Room. Now, my child is 12, and we've been to the Ritz about five times. We've also stayed at the Park Hyatt and Capella in between, but our affection for the Ritz runs deep; each visit feels like catching up with an old friend. I'd seen a lot of negative reviews online about the Ritz, and I was a bit apprehensive before this trip. However, during our stay, both the hotel's facilities and service were still top-notch. Our butler, Jalen, was incredibly responsive, checking in daily about our room and service needs, and resolving issues very efficiently. He even gave us cute little lions! While the Ritz might be getting on in years, its foundation as an established luxury hotel remains strong. The upkeep of its public areas, pools, and rooms still surpasses many other hotels. Regarding dining, we stuck to the Liyuan Chinese Restaurant and Sophia Italian Restaurant, as well as the beachfront BBQ buffet. The food quality was consistently good, and our family thoroughly enjoyed our meals without any digestive issues. The Ritz's dining maintains the high standards expected of a Marriott luxury brand. We'll definitely choose the Ritz again on our next trip to Sanya, and I hope it continues to thrive!

Choosing this hotel for our Sanya vacation was an excellent decision! The hotel's garden landscape is beautiful, and you can see the sea right from the property. Our room had a scenic balcony with a fantastic view. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was peaceful and quiet both morning and night. Holly, our executive lounge butler, was attentive throughout our stay, and the breakfast selection was varied and fresh.

The hotel is huge, and the lawns and pools are beautiful and very photogenic. The complimentary photoshoot, although the photographer was a bit perfunctory and finished quickly, surprisingly yielded many great photos. The breakfast selection is quite extensive and good quality; the beef noodles are delicious, and serving until 11 AM is very thoughtful—I just treated it as lunch. Our butler, Jennifer, was incredibly reliable. She made arrangements in advance, proactively greeted us, remembered my preferences, and ensured the turndown service and welcome amenities were all perfectly set up. The service was just right, never intrusive, making our stay very comfortable.

It was so convenient not having to bother with housekeeping or the front desk; she arranged everything from dining and activities to room cleaning, allowing us to truly relax and enjoy our vacation without a worry. The only minor drawback was the taste of the buffet dinner, which I felt could be improved. The ingredients were clearly top-notch, and it would be even better if the flavors could match a five-star hotel standard. Despite that small issue, the overall experience was absolutely fantastic. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Sanya.
