This hotel exceeded my expectations, but honestly, it's not ideal for families with young children. Our personal concierge, Chris, was absolutely wonderful! She called beforehand to ask about our arrival time and then added me on WeChat to provide essential information. When we arrived at 2 PM, my child wasn't feeling well, and she managed to arrange an early check-in for us. The first night we had a connecting room, and the neighbors were very noisy. After I reported it to Chris, she handled it exceptionally well.
The hotel environment is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious. I didn't find them old at all; they seemed perfectly fine. There weren't many people around, which made for fantastic photo opportunities. While the breakfast selection wasn't huge, the quality was excellent, and the service was prompt. The kids' club is tiny, and there are very few family activities. Crab catching costs extra, and the go-karts are a paid activity at 108 for a double car.
Staff members would greet us proactively when we walked around the hotel. However, when we checked out, we asked for help with our luggage, and no one came for twenty minutes. We eventually gave up waiting and slowly moved our bags to the lobby with my child's grandmother.
There are no longer any mermaid shows. The travel photography service was quite disappointing. The 7 complimentary photos were just raw files, and they charged an extra 30 for retouching. The complimentary video was a complete sham. There was no composition in the photos; it was just people in front of the camera. Out of over a hundred photos, we struggled to find even 8 good ones. On the positive side, they didn't try to upsell during the photo selection process.
