The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort

I brought my 83-year-old mother to Sanya, and we stayed at several hotels in Haitang Bay. The Westin's butler, Ella Chen, was incredibly thoughtful. She helped arrange our room in advance, upgraded it for us, and even shared information about nearby attractions and hotel services. The room itself showed a bit of age, likely due to the hotel being open for a while, but the overall environment, especially the pool where you can go boating, was quite picturesque and great for photos. Breakfast was excellent, particularly the Spices restaurant on the second floor, which offered a semi-buffet, à la carte style, and the food quality was very high. The Hainanese Zao Po Cu (a local vinegar dish) was a delicious mix of sour and spicy. The hotel's public areas were very clean; I often saw staff using floor scrubbers to clean the marble floors. Plus, there's a convenient passage from the hotel's back door that leads directly across the road to Zone C of the duty-free shop.

Booked two rooms, might have mixed up the reviews. Let me talk about the pool room – great for swimmers, too! I didn't take any photos, but it looks exactly like the pictures on Trip.com. Separately, I want to mention the service. The butler service was really genuine. When I gave feedback, it was immediately escalated to the manager for resolution. You can tell the hotel has high standards for itself and is very responsive. It's truly thoughtful service.

Extremely satisfied! The hotel grounds are expansive with beautiful scenery. Shopping is convenient, as it's close to duty-free shops. The beach is also lovely, and the river-style pool is super fun and great for photos. In the evening, there's a fantastic fire dance show that's quite impressive. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly and kept tidy. The EC (Executive Club/Concierge) service is very thoughtful; they contacted us even before check-in to ask about our needs and arrange services, which was really nice. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Sanya.

The hotel's river-like pool is a unique feature, perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. Plus, there's an infinity pool on the rooftop. It's great for family trips, and the kids had a blast. The hotel's location is also excellent, and Amy Chen provided wonderful service. We'll definitely be back next time!

Room service is great, and the butler was very prompt in assisting with everything. I always stay at this hotel whenever I'm in town. It's convenient for the duty-free shop, and my child loves paddleboarding here. The only thing is the air conditioning is a bit noisy, but I was too lazy to call maintenance.

Honestly, the beach and water in Haitang Bay are a notch above Sanya Bay. The sand is much finer and softer, and the water is clearer and bluer. The hotel's beach is great; it's so relaxing to lie on a beach chair with a cocktail and just unwind. The hotel has several pools, and the free paddleboards are fun. The breakfast is high quality with a good variety, and I appreciate that you can eat until 11 AM. The overall environment and layout are well-designed, and most areas of the hotel are very photogenic. Definitely recommended!
