Shinsaibashi Grand Hotel Osaka

The room was incredibly small with very few amenities. It's within walking distance to Shinsaibashi and Namba, but getting to Universal Studios requires three transfers. There are no convenience stores nearby, and the closest Aeon store doesn't have much to offer.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the subway station and consists of two buildings: the main building and an annex. The rooms aren't huge, but they're a good size for hotels in the same price range. They offer 24-hour hot water, coffee, drinks, and a microwave for heating food, which is great. Free luggage storage is also available. There's a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk, so communication was seamless. Breakfast was decent too. The only downside, if I had to pick one, was the constant stream of tour groups. It's also just a 5-minute walk from the main shopping street in Shinsaibashi.

The room was spotless and smelled fresh. I was initially worried if I'd have space to open my suitcase, but it was perfectly fine. The hotel is super close to two different subway stations and also to Shinsaibashi. Plus, there are tons of great restaurants nearby!

The hotel's location is quite good, not far from the Shinsaibashi shopping district and Dotonbori, and closest to Nagahoribashi subway station. Aside from the slightly small bathroom, the room wasn't too cramped. The breakfast was pretty good for the price. For a two-day trip, I highly recommend considering the Osaka Amazing Pass, which offers free subway rides and entry to nearly 40 attractions (Osaka Castle Park + cruise, Tempozan Ferris Wheel + cruise, Tsutenkaku Tower, etc.).

Facilities: Decent enough, nothing grand. I've stayed here a few times, and it's always been pretty standard. Cleanliness: Japanese hotels are generally very clean, and this one is no exception. Environment: It's very close to a supermarket, which is convenient. It's in a central area, but walking to Shinsaibashi is a bit of a trek.

The hotel is extremely convenient, and the staff were very polite. Dotonbori, Kuromon Market, and several subway stations are all within easy walking distance, plus there are countless dining options right outside.

The hotel's main strength is its excellent location; Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi are both just a stone's throw away. Unfortunately, the rooms were quite small and a bit basic. The older gentleman at the front desk was a bit stiff and inflexible, but I became more understanding when I thought about how tough it must be to stand at reception at his age. Fortunately, I later met a young lady who spoke Chinese, and her attitude was much more pleasant. The hotel breakfast, however, was quite good.
