The location was in Tan Binh which is the urban center of Ho Chi Minh City. For the review we'll consider the district and what its near and not all the tourist sites it is near.
The hotel has a large flight of stairs you must lug your belongings up. Its right on one of the main streets that leads to one of the busiest streets in the district. Once inside there is an elevator to get your things to your room. From the hotel, it is about a 20 minute walk to a mall, but with many specialty shops nearby. It's a 40 minute walk to a park and about the same distance to a water park/lake which is actually in district 11. There is also a supermarket and other smaller market like shops strewn around, within 1-5 minutes walk.
Around the hotel you will get to experience what local people are like, the traffic, the restaurants, and shops.
The room itself is an average small sized room. The hotel has no breakfast and was not able to help facilitate currency exchange and didn't know where to exchange currency (all suggestions led to dead ends). They only knew how to withdrawal from an ATM. The room wasn't cleaned during the stay, but perhaps if I had asked it would have been swept, or the trash taken out. I left the filled trash bags in the hallway and they were taken away. The room comes with a fridge, so you can buy some yogurt or fruit. The shower was never warm, always slightly cold or freezing cold. There were no bed bugs and it was mostly quiet at night from a city level. But the rooms being small, means you will hear your neighbors, every bang, touch or movement. There were also some noisy people in the stairwells at all times of the night until around 5am.
