This is a difficult review to write.
We booked this hotel, mostly like everybody else, because of the pictures of the big corner room with a view of the city.
However, apart from the fact that the pictures are quite polished and the rooms are actually in a bit of a state of disrepair, there are only particular rooms that would give you that view and a certain level of comfort.
Unless you’re on the left side on the highest level, the place is not really worth the money. The sound isolation is nonexistent, so not only you can hear noise in the hallway, but also the constant traffic as if you were sleeping on the balcony.
The ad also says your room has a balcony, but this is actually shared not only with the room next door, but with the entire floor, as everyone can access it from the hallway.
The staff, however, have been absolutely lovely. From people at reception, to everyone working in the bar on floor 9, we’ve always been welcomed with a smile. The lovely ladies from housekeeping have been always keen and quick to help when we mentioned there were ants in the room or requested any extra toiletries.
If I could I would give 5 stars just to the security guy outside, as he’s been an absolute star. Not just a great person, saying hello and calling the lift for us every time, but absolutely going above and beyond. He literally brought a smile on our faces every time we left and came back to the hotel.
Overall, unfortunately, I can’t give the place more than 3 stars. I would’ve had no problem with it if the price was fair, but frankly it’s just a very tacky design and overpriced for what it offers. Especially, since there’s not much to the area either, so you have to go to other districts most of the time, which makes it quite inconvenient.
