Ocean Suites Jeju Hotel

The hotel staff were great, especially the front desk ladies I encountered – all very nice and English communication was perfectly fine. It seems to be a contracted hotel for the Korean budget airline AERO K. The room was very clean, but the hotel itself is just so outdated. The classic yellow furniture and wide-bezel TV from the millennium made me feel like I was back at my grandparents' house. Please renovate soon!

The service was terrible. They advertised a Chinese-speaking front desk, but there wasn't one, and their English wasn't great either. I tried to take a photo upstairs and was shooed away, which I didn't understand. They charged me for a bottle of water, and the housekeeping staff even threw away the box for my luxury perfume. After a long day out, I returned to find the air conditioning turned off, making the room unbearably hot. The hot water was inconsistent, constantly fluctuating between hot and cold. The facilities are very old. The only positive was the view, and the surrounding area was fairly convenient.

I stayed on the seventh floor of the Jeju Ocean Suites Hotel this time. During the day, I could clearly see planes, and it was very quiet at night. The hotel is right by the sea, but you can't go down to the water. There's a jogging track. On the first floor, there's a bakery and a convenience store. There's also an art gallery outside with sculptures from artists around the world.

This stay was a complete surprise, like a mystery box! We were randomly assigned two top-floor suite rooms, which were incredibly spacious, even for a family of four. Although it was listed as a 'mountain city view,' the actual view far exceeded our expectations. Right outside our door was the gym, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering an expansive panoramic view. Even more stunning was the rooftop terrace, boasting almost a 360° panoramic sea view. From the pink hues of sunrise to the golden glow of sunset, we could chase the light all day long without even leaving the building. The visual experience in the common areas was absolutely superb. Both the facilities and service lived up to the price, making it excellent value for money. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Family Quad Room Let's start with the room type – absolutely perfect! It's ideal for families or groups. The beds are comfortable, and the room is spacious enough to accommodate four 20-26 inch suitcases. Plus, there's a separate living area, great for dining, mobile gaming, or as a temporary private space. There are two air conditioners, and you can adjust the temperature yourself. Additionally, the room comes with two sinks, which is super convenient for multiple guests as you won't have to queue up in the mornings. The bathroom is a bit small, and the wet/dry separation is a bit tight, but compared to the other positives, this is negligible. Location: It's about a 10-15 minute drive to both the airport and the city center. Shilla Duty Free is about 20 minutes away, and Lotte Duty Free is around 10-15 minutes. We typically took taxis, which cost between 40-80 RMB per ride. Going to tourist attractions, however, would be more expensive. Now for the downsides: When interacting with the front desk staff, make sure to find the younger ones. The older staff members tend to be stiff and cold in their demeanor. Regardless of regional differences, hotels are a service industry, and such an attitude really doesn't match the room price. The hotel's trash cans are small and few. To maintain a clean environment, you'll need to ask for more trash bags to dispose of waste promptly. The disposable slippers have very thin soles. Also, one day they forgot to replenish the toilet paper. Daytime in Jeju is quite long, and nights are short. The hotel curtains are not very good at blocking light; it gets quite bright by 5-6 AM. If you're a light sleeper, you'll need to bring your own eye mask.
