#8 of Best Things to Do in Datong
Museums
M43***07
I asked a tour guide and talked for three hours. From the first floor to the third floor, I talked about the dinosaurs to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The concept of the design was very good at the beginning. I looked at the roughness and care, but why many of the exhibits are not in the museum, many of them went to the Shanghai Museum. If you have seen the Shanxi Museum, Here can come or not, Shanxi cultural relics too much, time limited to go to one.

Very much like, a municipal museum is also a boutique. The older the cultural relics, the more shocking, the charm of time accumulation. The museum has several cluster cultural relics booths, which have special shock and eye-catching.

The city of Longbi Datong, the most heavy is the Kowloon Wall at the entrance of the Ming Dynasty Wangfu. It is the most complete and largest Longbi in the country. It is quite exquisite and better than the Forbidden City, but it is not more than the system. Attractions are free, there is a parking lot on the side, and the surrounding tourist attractions are very convenient.

Shanhua Temple is also a free attraction in Datong. Although the temple is not big, the cultural relics hidden inside are indeed precious. Shanhua Temple is located on the south side of Datong Ancient City, close to the city wall, and it is worth visiting when you have time.

This attraction is a scenic spot developed in recent years, not very mature, so there are few tourists, and it is currently possible to drive in. The main line inside is basically repaired, there are car lanes, trails and bicycle riding roads, and there are campgrounds on the floor plan. It is very suitable for leisure and vacation. There are some bicycle lanes still being repaired. We have all visited the main mountains inside, and there are road signs to guide, which is not difficult to find. And the development and construction of the main mountains are relatively complete, there is a parking lot, there is a road map and there is a bathroom. For example, Tiger Mountain Jinshan Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wolf Wo Especially Jinshan There is also a cafe. Jinshan itself can be climbed. Many people go to climb. I basically belong to the person who climbs to the cafe and is the limit of physical strength, so I only went to the cafe. There are books on volcanic groups in the cafe to read, which is a geological park for popularizing science. There are no entertainment projects in other mountains. We drove around and finally went to the Temple of Hetian. The Temple of Hetian is quite old and has a long history. It is worth seeing. The Temple of Hetian is very close to Yunzhou District, only 2 kilometers. At noon, you can go to the Yunzhou District to have a meal and rest. Then the volcanic geological museum is also in the Yunzhou area. We didn't happen to be in a hurry, it happened to be Monday, the museum closed, so I regret not seeing it. The whole park is very suitable for self-driving. It takes only 40-50 minutes to drive from Datong City and the road is newly built. There is no big car and it is very good to run.

" Fahua Temple " is located in the ancient city of Datong and Yang Street. The Fahua Tower in the temple was built in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. It is the only existing cladding-style glazed lama tower in Datong City. It is named after the tower with a "Fahua Sutra" in memory. " Fahua Temple " is a courtyard-style Buddhist building. The temple sits north and south, and there are four courtyards before and after. The entire temple building is scattered in height and low, with symmetrical left and right. The front yard has a glazed archway and a bell and drum tower; the second entrance has a Sanshi Temple, Jialan Temple, and an ancestor's temple; The third entrance to the courtyard has the Pilu Temple, the temple and the palace and the corridor; the backyard is the majestic white tower and the Tibetan Jinglou, etc. The Lama Tower is a masonry structure, the tower is 12 meters high, composed of the tower, the tower body, the tower temple, is the only ancient cultural relics preserved in the temple. The statues in the temple are vibrant and rich, vivid, rich in color, many characters, multi-ethnic integration and exotic color combination characteristics.

Datong Yungang Grottoes are really too shocking to enter the grotto door. What you see is the Buddha hand, which is very shocking. Then the Buddha statue is getting bigger and bigger, the shape is exquisite, and there is a story connotation. This is not available in many grottoes. Yungang Grottoes are really artistic treasures. I hope to protect it well.

The Drum Tower is located on the South Street of Datong Ancient City. It was built in the early Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 500 years. It is three floors high and adopts the style of heavy Boxie Mountain. It is a quaint atmosphere and is a key cultural relics protection nationwide.

The main thing about the Northern Wei Mingtang Ruins Park is that there are two museums inside, one is the Northern Wei Mingtang Ruins Museum and the other is the Northern Dynasty Art Museum. In fact, the entire park is a garden built for this site. Both museums are used as branches of Datong City Museum and belong to Datong City Museum. You can make an appointment on the WeChat public account of Datong City Museum. I feel that in addition to Labor Day and National Day, I don't need to make an appointment in advance because there are not so many tourists. Go in from the north gate of Xiangyang Street Park, very close to the ruins museum, but the art museum is in the south, go to the art museum, go around the back. Both museums are not big. The ruins museum is some foundations. The exhibition hall on the art museum is on the first floor and the basement floor. There is no elevator. The only downside is that the museum does not turn on the air conditioner. All branches of Datong City Museum do not turn on the air conditioner! ! ! I went in early August. Although the summer in Datong is not as humid and hot as the Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai areas, it is also very sun-baked during the day in early August, and the feeling of baking is still there. The museum did not turn on the air conditioner, and even the staff at the door were hot. I also have a fan on my hand and I don't want to take pictures at all. It is recommended that the administrators turn on the air conditioner in the summer! There is a cultural and creative store on the art museum that can be stamped. The bathroom is not in the museum, but on the west side of the south gate of the park. Free parking is available on the sidewalks around the park. It's just that the parking space is a little tight. Then there are restaurants around the park, and there are not many famous chain stores located here. So if you don't want to queue up in the restaurants in the ancient city, you can come here to eat. You can see the map of any restaurant.
