Kuixu Bookstore Building is located on the southwest bank of Daming Lake, west of the Gion Garden. The whole building is brick and wood structure, brick red. Kuixu Bookstore Building, formerly Shandong Provincial Library Collection Building, was built in 1935-1936, the so-called "Kuixu Bookstore", which means "Kuixing Main Qi, Xuxing Main Lu, divided by two stars, covering the territory of Qilu". Before the completion of the new reading building in 1984, Kuixu Bookstore has been the main building of the museum. Kuixu Bookstore Building is one of the former sites of Shandong Provincial Library.
