It was "Mt. Hyotan" where you can feel the threat and beauty of nature. Personally, I think it's the best on Miyake Island.

It was "Mt. Hyotan" where you can feel the threat and beauty of nature. Personally, I think it's the best on Miyake Island. It seems that the eruption in 1940 formed "Mt. Hyotan" in almost a day. I thought that the threat posed by the nature and eruption that can easily be done by artificially impossible, such as building a mountain in one day, was a little immeasurable. I went to August 2018. I stopped by while driving on the road around Miyake Island. The place is very close to Shiitori Shrine. It is a dense mountain at an old eruption near the sea.

    A mountain made of volcanoes.

    Original Text

A mountain made of one eruption. It is left behind lava all over. The road continues to the back, but there is nothing in particular, so it's a good idea to look in front of you.

A mountain built in 1940 (Showa 15) when the eruption on the northeastern hillside of Mt. Oyama. Even though it is a mountain, it is close to a hill. Since it is made of scoria, you can feel the traces of "volcanoes". It feels like I'm on another planet. The view from the top of the mountain was very good. Beyond the top is the sea and cliffs, but there are no fences, so be careful on strong wind days. You can't get in by car or motorcycle. Walk on foot and feel nature ...
