Godzilla Rock at Sunset
You can't miss the Namahage ogres in the area, but here is a chance to 'meet' another famous Japanese monster--Godzilla. At sunset, a rock formation bears a great resemblance to the famous film monste...
From the Oga Aquarium, I went along the prefectural road that runs counterclockwise along the coastline. The west coast of the Oga Peninsula is believed to have deposited mud flows caused by volcanic eruptions about 30 million years ago when the Japanese archipelago was on the eastern edge of the Eurasian continent. Therefore, the cliffs continued, and the rough 々 rocky area was an impressive coast. Near the southernmost tip of the west coast where such cliffs and rocky areas continue, there was the famous "Godzilla Rock".

Is "Oga West Coast" a treasure trove of "geology and strata"? Or rather, the whole "Oga Peninsula / Ogata" is interesting. In particular, since the road is along the coastline in "Oga West Coast", you can easily see "geology and stratum". If you are interested, try driving. By the way, it was a pretty up and down road.
The west coast of the Oga Peninsula is beautiful with its varied terrain and is suitable for driving. There are several parking lots, and if the weather is blessed, it would be a good idea to park your car and look at the scenery sometimes.
Not only the sea, but also the natural mountain scenery is wonderful.

Not only the sea but also the natural mountain scenery is wonderful ...
