Best If spring or Autumn. You can rent your hanbok for longer time or 1 day to go around different places. Do you know that if you visit Gyeongbokgung Palace with a hanbok, the entrance is free? I booked mine along the street next to the palace and you will be spoilt for choices! In Korea, the biggest palace is Gyeongbokgung palace and the place was huge. I think we spent at least 3.5 hours there. It has a fountain and lake area, with small cute pavilions and many palace sections, each main houses will be decorated with the usual furniture of the person staying in there. There are so many cherry blossoms there so you will be in awe! We enjoyed beautiful and charming moments while visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace. From the moment we arrived at the palace's main gate, it felt as if we had entered a world of elegance and history. The beautifully and elegantly designed royal buildings reflected the history and culture of old Korea. We enjoyed a magical tour of the palace gardens, where plants were renovated and old trees were revived. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable, and we were able to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature. Because the event was executed in an interesting and surprising way, we enjoyed watching the Royal Guard change. We watched the royal guards, dressed in traditional uniforms, perform precise and consistent movements, adding charm and history to our experience. We enjoyed a traditional tea drink at one of the cafes inside the palace. We enjoyed the calm atmosphere and rested in the shade of the surrounding beauty. It was a unique experience, and we felt connected to Korean traditional culture. Overall, our visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace was a magical and enjoyable experience. #koreatrip It was our first time in Korea, and having our pictures taken around Gyeongbokgung Palace was on our bucket list. There were many hanbok rental places near the palace, all offering similar prices with varying services. I chose Gigibebe Hanbok, opting for their special hanbok package with hairstyling. The process was simple and straightforward, and the staff were friendly. There's a toilet in the store, and I recommend using it before putting on the hanbok. Also, wear a skin-colored singlet and heat-tech tights underneath; I was freezing because the skirt was thinner and more exposed than I expected, especially in strong winds. We ended up following a soon-to-be-married couple around during their photoshoot to find good spots for our own photos. Unfortunately, unlike tourist spots in Japan, there are no photo stands available around the castle, making it challenging to get good photos together. The palace is quite large, and people are well spread out, so it was difficult to find someone who could take a decent photo for us. What I would have done differently is to engage a personal photographer for a mini photoshoot. It'll costs about $80-100 per person, which is quite reasonable for quality memories.

Gyeongbok Palace is the largest palace of all five grand palaces of Joseon dynasty, and it has also been got the attention from tourists the most. It looks as gorgeous palace, but who would have thought this palace once got terribly traumatized. I think you should know this before visiting as this is one of the palace’s backgrounds. It is about the death of a praised queen of Joseon. In late 1895, Queen Myeongseong, who had been trying to develop the country and to survive from foreign invasion, had been assassinated by Japanese killers in her residence where has been a hall in the Gyeongbok. This hall is Gonnyeonfhap (pic 3-5). The reason why she was assassinated was because she operated the policies against Japan who was trying to colonize Korea. This act of Japan caused all Korean subjects enraged them. This was so sad. Anyway, Korea was finally annexed by Japan in 1910. Gyeongbokgung in Korean means “The Palace of Shining Blessings”, but it really contraries to this traumatic incident occurred in the palace. Gyeongbokgung is the place where you can’t miss out when visiting Seoul as it is beautiful and fine with valuable Joseon architecture. It feels like stepping back in time as you enter Gyeongbokgung Palace. It was built in 1395, and is the largest of the 5 grand palaces from the Joseon Dynasty, and many people visit here wearing traditional Korean clothes 🎎 🚇 Take the metro to Gyeongbokgung Station on Line 3, then walk 200 metres out of Exit 5. 🎫 Tickets are 3000₩ each, or free if you are wearing a hanbok.
