The annual underground Christmas market runs from mid-November to December 23, making it an iconic event for the city. The Christmas market is ingeniously placed in the caves beneath the ruins of the castle, mysterious and fairy tale. The cave is usually open to visit, and you need to use lights to move in and out, but during Christmas the caves are dazzling with fairy-tale decorations, which are unique in the Netherlands and Europe.
