I rarely write reviews, but this hotel truly deserves a shout-out, mainly because the attention to detail was exceptional. Harbin in May is very dry, and my lips were chapped, so the hotel thoughtfully provided two humidifiers. They also offered many little extras like earplugs, snacks, chocolates, and four bottles of water. The toilet had disposable seat covers and disinfectant wipes, and the disposable slippers were very comfortable, not the cheap kind. The water kettle was designed to use bottled water directly, which was very convenient, and the bed was large and comfortable. Upon checkout, I even received a small gift, and when I was leaving alone with a large suitcase, a staff member helped me carry it across the road and load it into the car. I've stayed in 5-star hotels in Sydney, Singapore, Shanghai, and Paris, including places like Crown and Shangri-La, but none have been as meticulously detailed as this one. And the price was incredibly affordable! Perhaps because it was the last day of the May Day holiday, it was only 260 yuan per night. I have to give it a 7-star rating!

My experience from check-in to check-out was fantastic! The lobby is grand and comfortable, and the front desk service was gentle and efficient. The room layout is well-designed with excellent natural light, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the soundproofing was good, making for a very quiet night. The surrounding area has convenient transportation, making it easy to dine and shop. The facilities are well-maintained and look new. It offers incredible value for money. This is my top choice for business trips or travel; I've already saved it and will definitely stay here again next time!

Bringing my family to Harbin, staying at the Ocean Ritz was such a great choice! The hotel has a beautiful European retro style, and the lobby is grand yet inviting, perfect for photos. Our room was spacious and bright, with a floor-to-ceiling window offering city views. The bed firmness was just right, and they even offered a pillow menu – so thoughtful! The staff were all very polite, always greeting us with a smile. The concierge was super efficient with luggage and calling taxis. The location is absolutely excellent; we could walk to Central Street and St. Sophia Church, which was so convenient for resting at the hotel after exploring. The breakfast was fresh and delicious; my kids especially loved the desserts and fruit. Overall, a perfect experience – clean, comfortable, and great service. Highly recommend!

The hotel service was truly exceptional. On my first day, I used a toilet seat cover, and from the next day onwards, disposable toilet seat covers were provided daily. Housekeeping was always prompt, and fresh fruit and mineral water were replenished regularly. The bedding was changed every two days. What was even more incredible was that on my last day, while packing, I noticed that all the black scuff marks from baggage handling on my suitcase had been wiped clean! The location is also superb. A left turn leads to the Hongzhuan Street morning market, and a short walk to the right takes you to Central Street. I never had breakfast at the hotel because there were so many great food options nearby. I'd go out in the morning, come back for a rest at noon, and then head out again in the afternoon, feeling completely refreshed. Wandering around the old streets near the hotel, you can find beautiful small churches and old buildings – absolutely fantastic! If it's your first time visiting, I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Love the hotel. Perfect location, good cleanliness, good front counter. At first got a room with smoke smell but they immediately change another room for me. Laundry room available at 8am-8pm. It will be great if it’s available 24 hours as we can get our laundry done after hanging out all day. Room size is perfect size

The location is about 200 metre walk to the Central Street , ZhongYang Street. Very convenient to have foods at around with McDonald, KFC,etc.   The teams are very very services provider offering assistance to us on transport, luggages, etc for our needs.   Breakfast is simple but serves with 3 course meals beside the starters and fruits etc.

The hotel boasts a great location, situated at the northernmost end of Central Street. A right turn outside leads directly to Central Street and the Flood Control Monument, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city center. It also features its own parking lot, a rarity for hotels on Central Street. However, be aware that the rooms are relatively small. The standard double room is practically just enough space for the bed, with no desk. The suites have a separate small room with a TV and coffee table, but are also quite cramped. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money this season, especially convenient for those with a car. The staff are also very friendly and helpful, making it a highly recommended hotel.

Location: Right next to Saint Sophia Cathedral, diagonally across from Daoli Market, about 500 meters from Central Street. It's a bit far from the Songhua River and Hongzhuan Morning Market, so I'd recommend using a shared bike. Room Amenities: This hotel opened just half a year ago, so everything feels quite new. The room was spacious, had a balcony, and a dressing area. I stayed for two nights, and my room was upgraded for free on the second night. Basic toiletries were provided. Two types of drinks in the minibar were complimentary, and there were welcome fruits. Service: Generally okay. I didn't need any special services. I received a small gift upon check-out. Breakfast: They had everything you'd expect, but it lacked a bit of local flavor. While they did have Northeastern dipping vegetables and Guo Bao Rou (sweet and sour pork), it would be even better with more Harbin specialties. However, Novotel's Western-style food was quite good, and my parents enjoyed it very much. Suggestion: Regarding smoking – theoretically, Novotel should be a non-smoking hotel, and there was no ashtray in the room. However, there was still a smell of smoke in the hallway. When I opened my door to go for breakfast one morning, the smell was quite strong. The cleaning staff were trying their best to air it out, but residue in fabrics is very hard to remove. People sensitive to smoke would be very bothered by this. (For me, the first thing I check in a domestic hotel review is non-smoking policies and secondhand smoke residue, because I never have to worry about smoke in international hotels. Indoor smoking bans are poorly enforced in China, especially in the north where there are many smokers.) We checked in right after the May Day holiday, so there weren't many guests, and the weather was warm, so no heating was needed. Therefore, the smell wasn't spreading too much between rooms. However, there was a smoke residue in the central air conditioning; I turned it on briefly but then turned it off. I suggest the hotel strictly separate smoking and non-smoking guests and enforce a no-smoking policy for smoking guests, perhaps by charging a cleaning fee if they don't comply, to ensure the comfort of other guests.

The hotel was very clean and tidy. The bath towels and hand towels were all placed in a small sterilizing cabinet for disinfection, and there was also laundry service, which was very thoughtful. All the staff at the hotel were very enthusiastic, provided excellent service, and were always ready to help. Thumbs up!

Let's start with the positives: The hotel's decor is very unique, and the rooms are spacious. There's a hotel cable car that goes directly across the river, making it very close to Central Street, and the cable car views are fantastic. The hotel is right by the river, with a small sandy beach where you can play in the water. The hotel is located within Sun Island Scenic Area, so it's very close to the Panda House. Now for the negatives: The heating is very poor; there's no underfloor heating, and the air conditioning doesn't produce heat. The front desk provided a space heater, but the room is quite large, so it couldn't warm it up at all. Hot water also takes a long time to come through; you have to run the water for several minutes before it gets hot, which essentially makes showering impossible. The breakfast is very basic, and the dining area is even colder than the rooms. I'd recommend not having breakfast at the hotel. The hotel requires entry through a mall entrance, and the mall closes at 9 PM. So, if you want to go out or return after 9 PM, you need to call the front desk to open the door. Since the hotel is inside the Sun Island Scenic Area, when taking a taxi into the area, you have to shout to the park security, ”I'm a guest at [hotel name]” to be allowed in. Also, when ordering a Didi (ride-hailing service) from the hotel, you need to register the Didi car's license plate number at the front desk for the car to be able to drive from the park entrance to the hotel. The above is for your reference. The front desk service was very attentive, and even though there were some issues with the facilities, the front desk staff were helpful in resolving them. I believe the experience would be better during peak tourist season.
