The 1st Annual ROW, RUN, RIDE is a benefit event organized for the Capital City Rowing organization. Participants will engage in a thrilling 2K Relay race with their team of three. This event features the exciting PIRATE Challenge, where teams will row, run, and ride their way to the finish line.
To get started, teams must first choose their division from three options: Youth (under 18), Mixed (all ages), or Masters (over 18). Each division will compete in a separate heat: Youth-Heat 1, Mixed-Heat 2, and Masters-Heat 3.
Once the division is decided, teams can select their challenge. Each team member will participate in one of the three events: row, run, or ride. The race commences with a 2K row on the ergometer. After completing the rowing segment, the rower will take the team flag and run to the designated running start line. The runner will then embark on a 2K run along a marked course. The rider will meet the runner at the running finish line and carry the team flag to the bike station. Finally, the biker will complete a 2K ride on the bike. The race concludes when the entire team crosses the official finish line together with the team flag.
Teams can be composed of both male and female participants. In the youth division, all team members must be under 18 years old. Mixed teams have no age restrictions. Masters teams, on the other hand, require all members to be over 18 years old. Throughout the race, the team flag must remain with the team at all times, being passed between members during transitions.
Prizes will be awarded based on time for the top three teams in each division. To participate, registration is required at a cost of $40 per person. Registration includes a race shirt, bib, swag bag, race refreshments, access to a photo booth, as well as entertainment such as speakers, music, and food. Costumes are encouraged to add to the festive spirit of the event.
