Join the 8th Annual Tour de Mount Vernon Youth and Family Ride on October 21, 2023 at George Washington's Mount Vernon in Mount Vernon, VA. This exciting event, organized by Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck, is now open to young riders for the first time! Experience the thrill of riding on the closed George Washington Memorial Parkway and enjoy the scenic beauty along the way. To ensure a seamless experience, registration is mandatory for all participants. The registration fee is $15 per rider. For the safety and well-being of our young riders, each child must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event. One adult can accompany up to five children, guaranteeing a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone. The event kicks off at 8:00 a.m. with check-in opening at 7:00 a.m. Different ride categories are available for children of varying skill levels. The Red Category is perfect for less skilled children, allowing them to ride around the roundabout in front of the Estate. Intermediate-level riders can join the Yellow Category for a 1.4-mile journey to Riverside Park and back. For more advanced young riders, the Green Category offers a 2.6-mile route to River Farm Drive and back. All riders must return to the estate by 9:15 a.m. After the ride, all children will receive a takeaway bag and a tasty snack to celebrate their accomplishment.
