Story & Verse: A Storytelling, Poetic, and Spoken Word Open Mic takes place every month in the heart of Downtown Princeton at the Solley Theater, located in the Arts Council of Princeton. This event is open to all ages, experience levels, and backgrounds, providing a warm and welcoming platform for both emerging and established artists. Whether you have a story to tell, poetry to share, or prose to recite, this open mic is the perfect opportunity to express yourself. The theme for this month's event is "The Best of Intentions". As a performer, you are invited to prepare a story, poem, or spoken word piece up to 5 minutes in length that is (at least loosely) related to the theme. Simply arrive by 6:45pm and add your name to the hat for a chance to perform. No previous experience or pre-registration is necessary, but if you choose, your piece can be recorded and uploaded to the Arts Council's YouTube channel and social media platforms. If you prefer to join as part of the audience, simply take the elevator or stairs to the Solley Theater and find a seat. You can even participate from your seat with a Micro Story. Just read the printed prompt based on the evening's theme and respond with a super concise story (just a line or two!) that answers the question. Brass Rabbit will read your story at the mic, as time allows. The performances will kick off shortly after 7pm. For any questions or further information, please contact info@artscouncilofprinceton.org. Don't miss out on this engaging and expressive event that celebrates the power of storytelling, poetry, and spoken word.
