Learn more about the artists:
Alyssa DVM is a storyteller who sings. Weaving songs inspired by life and the people around her, Alyssa DVM takes her music to a new level with her latest EP, Karma Knows. If people don’t want songs written about them, they shouldn’t do bad things. Honest in her recordings and live shows, Alyssa DVM is captivating to listen to and electric to watch.
Andrew Bentham-Riley offers an authentic singer-songwriter experience, weaving deeply personal and anecdotal lyrics into his music. His songs explore his own life, tales from the road, and themes of love, loss, and personal growth, creating a compelling narrative. Andrew complements these stories with skillfully crafted and dynamic guitar arrangements, delivering performances that resonate with heartfelt emotion and artistry. You can learn more about Andrew and all his fears by listening to his new single Truman on Spotify and Apple Music today.
Montreal born folk-pop singer-songwriter Cinzia & The Eclipse
(chin-zee-uh)
draws inspiration from the sad-girl pop of Julia Michaels and the anthemic vocal presence of Florence + The Machine.
Her EP
Springland
(March 2024) showcases her precision as a songwriter as she balances energising and emotional, finding inspiration from heartbreak, nostalgia, and the human condition. Cinzia’s signature sound of blending pop with organic folk is now more refined. Her vocal power rests in abundant mid-range sultry tones that play with phrasing and flutter like a butterfly, but are also powerful and rich.
With her vulnerable melodies and catchy choruses, Cinzia’s songs have received radio play on The Beat 92.5 and CBC Music, and editorial playlisting (
Folk & Friends, Chill Covers
) resulting in over ten million streams. Her hometown of Montreal is her muse, dating back to her debut EP
Little Italy (
2020).

Taking on Climate Change Workshop: Prospect Park | Franklin Public School
Jun 18, 2025 (UTC-4)
Kitchener
Event Description:
Climate change can often feel big and out of reach- but it’s something we’re experiencing right here in Waterloo Region. And the good news? There’s so much we can do, together.
In this interactive session hosted by ClimateActionWR, we’ll explore what climate change looks like locally, where most of our community’s emissions come from, and how our everyday actions- from how we get around to how we use energy- can be part of the solution.
Whether you’re just starting to think about climate action or looking to go deeper, this session is a chance to build your understanding, ask questions, and leave with practical steps you can take to make a difference. Together, we’ll connect the dots between individual choices and community-wide change, and remind ourselves that no action is too small when it comes to caring for the place we call home.
ClimateActionWR is a collaboration between local organizations and community members focused on climate change mitigation, and is led by
Reep Green Solutions
and
Sustainable Waterloo Region
.
This workshop is in collaboration with the City of Kitchener's Open House for Prospect Park's upgraded stormwater facility
Join Reep and the City on Wednesday June 18th in Franklin Public School gym for the drop-in
open house from 5-8pm
to help guide the design of these upgrades so that the park better serves the neighbourhood. See
Shape the Future of Prospect Park | EngageWR
for more details.
The Taking on Climate Change workshop will take place from
7-8pm
in a separate classroom.
City of Kitchener's Stormwater Projects
The City of Kitchener is working on several projects across the city to improve stormwater management. These projects improve water quality and reduce flood risk due to climate change. The projects are partially funded by the federal government’s Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund (DMAF) with $50 million toward projects during 2018-2028.

Copper Wildflower Workshop | Two Smiths
Jun 21, 2025 (UTC-4)
Kitchener
This 2 day introductory workshop focuses on creating natural plant forms using a variety of copper forming and joinery techniques: fold forming, forging, fullering, veining, drilling, riveting and soft soldering.

No previous metalworking experience is necessary.
Class runs from 9am-5pm. All materials, safety equipment, coffee and tea will be provided. Lunch is available in town / an indoor lunch area with a microwave and fridge is provided on site if you bring your own food. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
