The Scuba Diving Discovery Course (FREE) for our Nation's Heroes is a remarkable event designed exclusively for Veterans/Active Duty Members of the Armed Forces and First Responders, along with one of their family members or a friend. This unique experience aims to introduce participants to the world of scuba diving in a safe and enjoyable environment. It is important to note that this course is not intended for certification purposes but rather for beginners who wish to explore their interest in scuba diving. With a maximum of 12 participants (6 in each class), individuals have the opportunity to engage with certified instructors who will guide them through the process. Depending on the number of registrations, there may even be a chance for more than one member to accompany the Hero. The classes, which last approximately 1 and a half hours each, offer an immersive and hands-on introduction to scuba diving. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mask, snorkel, and fins if available. However, if they do not possess these items, the necessary equipment will be provided. To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience, divers are advised to wear a swimsuit with a shirt or sun shirt. Although the pool is heated, it is recommended to bring a lightweight wetsuit to stay warm. Towels and a change of clothes are also suggested. The pool is conveniently located at Giant Fitness in Voorhees Township. Please remember to check in at the front desk upon arrival and proceed to the pool area to inform the organizers of your presence. It is crucial to arrive on time for the class you registered for, or cancel your registration promptly if you are unable to make it. By doing so, you allow others the opportunity to participate.
