Culture Dose for Kids is an eight-week arts engagement program designed for young people aged 9-12 who experience mild anxiety. This program provides a unique opportunity for young individuals to connect with their emotions, thoughts, and imagination through engagement with curated artworks. By participating in this program, young people can develop self-confidence, resilience, and foster social connections, ultimately improving their mental health and overall well-being. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate and support their children throughout the program.
Hosted by Shoalhaven Regional Gallery educators, Culture Dose for Kids will take place over eight weeks, starting on Saturday, February 10th, from 10 am to 12 pm, and concluding on Saturday, April 6th. Please note that there will be no session on Easter Saturday, March 30th. To ensure a safe and structured environment, the program will be conducted in small group settings. Additionally, a program will be offered simultaneously for parents and caregivers.
Culture Dose for Kids is part of a research study program in collaboration between the Art Gallery of NSW and the Black Dog Institute. This program is generously funded by the Jibb Foundation. All art materials, resources, and morning tea will be provided at no cost.
