THURSDAY War Bonnet Round Up 2024 | Sandy Downs Arena
Aug 1, 2024 (UTC-7)
Idaho Falls
The 112th edition of Idaho's Oldest Rodeo, the War Bonnet Round Up, is set to take place on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Sandy Downs Arena in Idaho Falls. This historic event, originally established in 1911 by a group of local businessmen, has become a cherished tradition in eastern Idaho's culture. Today, the City of Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Fort Hall, presents this PRCA sanctioned rodeo, featuring over 500 talented cowboys and cowgirls competing in front of a passionate crowd of more than 15,000 rodeo enthusiasts.
For the 2024 edition, a new feature has been introduced to enhance the experience for attendees. Reserved seating in the grandstands is now available for purchase at an additional cost. This move was made in response to feedback from the community, and the revenue generated will help cover the expenses associated with ensuring the availability of these reserved seats. Please note that seats in the bleachers will continue to be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, parking is provided free of charge, with gates opening at 4:30 pm. The event will kick off with the kid's rodeo at 5:45 pm, followed by the main rodeo at 7 pm, and everything is expected to conclude around 10 pm.
Clear water bottles with intact seals are the only outside beverages permitted, as no outside food is allowed. The policy of not allowing outside animals is in place to prioritize the safety of both attendees' and the rodeo's animals. However, service animals are welcome. General admission tickets guarantee entry into the arena, but not specific seats. To secure a seat, it is advisable to arrive at 4:30 pm.
Please be aware that refunds for tickets will not be offered on the day of the rodeo, regardless of weather conditions or seat availability. Refund requests, as well as transfer and exchange inquiries, must be submitted by Tuesday, June 24, 2023, at 11:59 pm. Refunds will be issued, minus any processing fees. Exchanges can also be made until the same deadline, with the ticket holder responsible for covering any price differences for more expensive tickets.
