The Lafayette Res Run for Education is an annual event that features a 10k, 5k, and 2 mile fun run/walk. Taking place on Sunday, October 22, 2023, this event is a great opportunity for participants to challenge themselves and support a good cause. The 5k race starts at 8am, followed by the 10k race at 8:15am, and the 2 mile fun run/walk at 8:45am. The Start/Finish Line is located on Mt. Diablo Blvd. between Moraga Road and Oak Hill Road in Downtown Lafayette. In addition to the races, there will be a Healthy Lifestyles Health Fair held on the same day from 7:30am-10:30am at Lafayette Circle. This fair will feature various vendors, kids' activities, and more. It's a great opportunity to learn more about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Please note that the first 100 students to register from each school will receive a voucher for 1/4 lb of bulk candy from Zoonie's Candy Shop. In addition, there are incentives for schools to encourage participation. The school with the most registrations by September 30 and the school with the most registrations overall will receive a $500 beneficiary check. The school that increases its number of runners compared to last year will also receive a $500 beneficiary check. This competition includes both elementary and middle schools. The Lafayette Res Run for Education is presented by the Lafayette Chamber, Oakwood Athletic Club, and the City of Lafayette California.
