The Mankato River Ramble 2023 is set to take place on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Land of Memories Park in Mankato, Minnesota. This exciting event offers participants the opportunity to explore the beautiful biking routes that the state has to offer. Not only that, but attendees can also indulge in delicious baked goods and enjoy live music performances. Additionally, visitors will have the chance to see the impressive ten-story-tall silo mural by Guido van Helten, which pays homage to the Native Americans who have inhabited the area for countless generations. This year, the Ramble has some exciting additions. Before the main event, participants can enjoy a FREE ride on the Sakatah Trail on the Saturday. Families looking for a more leisurely biking experience can sign up for the Minneopa-Meander, an 8-mile ride from Land of Memories to Minneopa Park and back. For those who want to commemorate the event, 2023 jerseys can be purchased and shipped directly to your door. Volunteers are also welcome to contribute and make the Ramble a success. The event will feature live bands and refreshments at rest stops and the Land of Memories staging area. Participants can choose from three scenic routes: the 12-mile Minneopa Fall Loop, the 26-mile Pie Run, and the 42-mile Lake Crystal Loop. Each route offers stunning views, including waterfalls, dams, and picturesque country roads. The Ramble begins at Land of Memories, with check-in starting at 7:30 a.m. Riders must finish by 3 p.m. Located just 77 miles from the Twin Cities on Highway 169, Mankato is the perfect destination for a day trip. The Ramble supports Mankato's bicycling community year-round, with proceeds going towards local events, educational programs, and infrastructure. Helmets are required for all participants. T-shirts featuring the Mankato River Ramble design will be available for purchase on the day of the ride. The event is grateful for the sponsorship of Ortho Edge, which allows free registration for youth up to age 17. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to explore the beauty of Mankato and support the local biking community!
